A well-known skin dealer in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has a pricey collection on offer. The centerpiece: An AK-47 skin for $150,000. It has now been sold and is thus the most expensive skin in the shooter to date.
What kind of skin is it? A player bought a “Field-Tested” skin for the AK-47 in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and paid a proud $150,000, reports the seller of the skin (via Twitter). For comparison: The famous “Dragon Lore” AWP sold for only $60,000.
The $150,000 is equivalent to €124,000 – for that amount, one could already buy a small apartment in Germany in some areas.
After an M4 skin was sold for $100,000 in July 2020, the AK-47 skin sets a new record. Global Offensive is almost 9 years old – yet the skins are still traded at such high prices in the game.
What makes the skin so expensive? The skin is likely unique in this manner in the world. It is mainly about the combination of features:
- “Field-Tested” skin (minimal wear)
- “Stat Trak” technology that counts kills
- four “Titan” holo stickers from Katowice 2014
Especially the four stickers make the weapon extremely expensive. One alone costs nearly $14,000 according to the pricing website cs.money.
The stickers were only available during the first EMS One Majors in Katowice 2014. The French team Titan was one of the participants at that time. The stickers are now absolute collector’s items.

Who sold this skin? ROFL is a well-known (former) skin dealer, who now trades in rare sneakers. He has made expensive deals before and is currently helping a friend sell his collection through this action (via Twitter).
He offered the collection either as a whole or each item individually. In a Google Doc, ROFL listed the prices. Besides the AK, among the most expensive items are:
- M4A1 How ST (factory new) for $40,000
- M4A1-S Hot Rod (factory new) with 4 iBUYPOWER holo stickers for $30,000 (already sold)
- one “Titan” and one “Reason” holo sticker from Katowice 2014 for $19,500 each
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has a history of crazy prices for its skins. In the past, players have often spent a lot of money. Usually, such transactions take place through private sales. Some new skins from November 2019 even went for over €1,000 on Steam.
