The Community Day in July 2026 brings Memmeon to the forefront in Pokémon GO. MeinMMO shows you what to expect at the event and how to prepare optimally.
Memmeon is ready to have its Community Day as the next starter monster in Pokémon GO. This Water-type monster comes from the 8th generation and can first evolve into Phlegleon and then into Intelleon.
On Community Day, you’ll find the monster in very high numbers and have a great chance of catching it as a Shiny. It celebrates its debut in this form on Community Day. We’ve summarized what else to expect at the event, how to make the most of it, and how to prepare.
Community Day in July 2026 with Memmeon – Start & Event Bonuses
When? Saturday, July 4, 2026 – From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Exclusive Attack: Charged Attack Aquahaubitze for Intelleon if you evolve it during the event or up to 5 hours afterward

For $1.99 (about €2), you can also purchase a special research corresponding to the Community Day. Here you’ll receive 3 encounters with Memmeon with special backgrounds, additional encounters with regular Memmeon, a premium battle pass, an XL special candy, and other rewards.
If you have contact with a Community Ambassador and check in with them for the event, you’ll also receive a limited-time research featuring encounters with Memmeon with special backgrounds and some premium items.
Who is the Community Day with Memmeon worth it for?
For collectors: It has not been possible to obtain Memmeon and its evolutions as Shiny before. This will be possible for the first time during Community Day. Additionally, you may encounter a version with a special background. So for collectors, the Community Day is definitely a must.
For fighters: Currently, Intelleon is neither particularly strong in the battle leagues nor one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO of the Water type. However, this could change with the new Charged Attacks it can learn during the event. So it wouldn’t hurt to get one or two strong specimens.
The perfect preparation for Community Day in July 2026
Make space: To catch many Memmeon, you’ll need to have enough space in your Pokémon Box. So you should clean up beforehand. If space does get tight during the event, there’s a simple trick to quickly sort Pokémon.
Collect items: If you want to catch Memmeon, you’ll naturally need Poké Balls. So gather plenty of Poké Balls, Ultra Balls, and Great Balls at PokéStops and through gifts beforehand.
If you use incense or lure modules during the event, you can attract additional Memmeon. If you don’t have any, you can purchase some with PokéCoins in the in-game shop.
Additionally, it’s worth using regular or even silver Razz Berries to receive more candies. Since silver berries are very rare, you should use the regular ones. The combination of Razz Berry and the event bonus gives you 4 times the amount of candies for a catch.
Appropriate Mega Evolution: If you have a suitable Water-type Mega Evolution active during the event, you’ll gain additional experience points and a candy for each catch. The chance for XL Candies will also increase. You must have one of the following evolutions active:
- Mega Blastoise
- Mega Gyarados
- Mega Swampert
- Mega Toedscool
- Primal Kyogre
- Mega Bidoof
