In Pokémon GO, the Hyperbonus: Water Festival begins. It features several Pokémon debuts and some very strong bonuses.
When does the event start? The Water Festival starts on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM. It will be active until Monday, August 24, 2026, at 8:00 PM.
How do I get Pikuda and Urgl? The Water Festival brings several Pokémon debuts. You can catch Pikuda for the first time, which also evolves into Barrakiefa. You can trigger the evolution with 50 Pikuda candies. You can obtain Pikuda from rewards in field research, in the GO Pass, and through rainy lure modules.
Urgl also makes its debut. You can obtain this Pokémon in the GO Pass and as rewards in the GO Battle League. You need to reach rank 16 for that. If you use a Premium Pass in the Battle League, the chance of encountering this Pokémon is increased. By the way, Urgl is the next Pokémon that can change its form in battle.

What bonuses are there at the event? The bonuses of the event are already quite strong. Some even increase further during the event. The following bonuses are active during the event:
Throughout the event:
- higher chance of encountering Shiny-Piccolente and -Araqua
- Pikuda can be attracted by rainy lure modules
- Urgl can appear as a reward in the Battle League if you have reached rank 16 (with Premium Pass, the chance is even higher)
- Field research can bring you items and event Pokémon as encounters
From August 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM to August 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM:
- double XP when catching Pokémon
- triple amount of Stardust when catching Pokémon
From August 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM to August 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM:
- triple amount of experience points when catching
- quadruple amount of Stardust when catching
From August 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM to August 24, 2026, at 8:00 PM:
- quadruple amount of experience points when catching
- five times the amount of experience points when catching
If you have already saved some Pokémon with strong Stardust rewards beforehand, the last part of the event is optimal for you to catch them and gather plenty of additional Stardust.
With the GO Pass, you can also unlock the following bonuses during the event:
- Level 10: double amount of catch candies
- Level 20: halved distance for eggs placed in incubators during the event
What Pokémon are available in the event? Not only are the two Pokémon debuts active in the event, but also some other Pokémon. They are as follows. Pokémon that can also appear as Shiny are marked with an *.
