The sci-fi game No Man’s Sky continues to receive regular updates even more than 10 years after its release. Now the Swarm update is here. MeinMMO sums up what you can look forward to.
What is this update? With the new The Swarm
update, HelloGames gives players another reason to dive into No Man’s Sky. The update went live today and is – like the numerous updates before – free.
The update revolves around the swarm that you must fight in 3 teams, as the planets are being corrupted by the swarms. Choose one of the teams (The Royal, The Sage, and The Weaver) and coordinate with your teammates in the battle against the swarm.
The swarm consists of agile and flexible drones and small ships that can pose a tough challenge. At the end of the swarm stands the large mother ship that threatens the planets and attacks all passing by.
Time is an important resource here: You can only fight against the swarm with your team for a limited time. May the best team win and be immortalized in the anomaly.

What new features are there? The big mission against the swarm is supported by other new features:
- In the fight against the swarm, you will naturally also get new equipment that you can use. The Direwasp armor consists of a total of seven pieces and gives you a metallic look with red accents.
- In addition to the new armor, you can also get the new Direwasp Flightpack and take advantage of swarm technology.
- A new weapon must not be missing: The Direwasp Disintegrator is a powerful rifle that you can use perfectly against large groups of enemies.
- You can gain a strategic advantage by investigating crashed swarms. Additionally, you can find means and ways to destroy the network of the swarm.
- You can fight not only in space: You also have to shoot down the swarms on the planets themselves.
