What happened in Pokémon GO? Last weekend, local live events for the Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos took place in Tainan and Los Angeles.
Some content was announced for these events, but one feature surprised the participating trainers: Mega-Dragonite, known from Pokémon Z-A, suddenly debuted in Pokémon GO.
The monster appeared as part of the new Super Mega Raids, as various trainers reported in the Subreddit for Pokémon GO. But now it has vanished again – and not everyone could obtain it.
How do you catch Mega-Dragonite in Pokémon GO?
Who could catch Mega-Dragonite? Only trainers who had a ticket for the local GO Fest could obtain Mega-Dragonite. You could also participate in the Super Mega Raids from outside if you used a remote raid – but you would not receive Mega Energy.
However, you need that energy to perform Dragonite’s Mega Evolution. So now all others have to wait.
When will Mega-Dragonite be available for everyone? There has not yet been an official announcement for Mega-Dragonite, but this was also the case before the local GO Tour. Typically, local events largely align with the global version. And that will take place next weekend.
Therefore, one should keep an eye out for the new Mega Pokémon during the global Kalos Tour. It is suspected that it will appear over the weekend. However, this is still speculation.

Can I trade a Mega-Dragonite? No, that is not possible. If you trade a Mega Pokémon, its Mega level is reset. So if one of your friends has a Mega-Dragonite, do not try to obtain it through a trade.
