After the item was already tested in recent weeks, it has now been unlocked for most players in Pokémon GO. The Explorer Gadget provides a strong complement for both players who are out for hours every day and those with less time.

Explorer Gadget in Pokémon GO: How it works
What kind of item is this? The Explorer Gadget is an item that you can activate once a day. In this regard, it is similar to the daily adventure incense.
However, the functioning of the item is entirely different. Depending on your trainer level in the game, you can receive a certain number of Pokémon and items daily with the Explorer Gadget, without actively playing.
To obtain the gadget, you only need to open the game. You will find it on the map above the daily adventure incense.
How does it work? After you have activated the gadget, you can close the game. If you move forward, the item automatically collects Pokémon and items for you as long as you have corresponding space in your bag.
How much does the gadget collect? The number of monsters and items that the gadget can collect for you daily depends on your character’s level in the game. For example, if you are at level 65, you can acquire 65 Pokémon and items through the Explorer Gadget.
Does the gadget work when the game is open? No. Currently, it does not seem that the gadget is active while you are playing the game. For it to take effect and start catching and collecting, you must activate the item, close the game, and then move around.
