Although the right summer sale from Steam is still a few days away, EA is already giving you juicy discounts. However, an AI-generated image has been used, which has caught the players’ attention.
What is this summer sale? The summer sale from EA is a third-party event taking place on Steam. Discounts of up to 92 percent are available on many EA titles.
Also included are the newer entries of Battlefield, EA Sports FC, or various other games from the universes of Star Wars or Mass Effect. The sale runs until June 25, 2026, which is the day the official Steam summer sale starts.
However, the event is adorned with a cover image that the community quickly recognized as AI-generated, showing that EA didn’t put much effort into it.
Battlefield 6 is also currently half price on Steam:
Missing arms and weird banners, but at least a lot of discounts
While EA could have put a lot of effort into the discounts, the cover image of the event looks a bit different. The subreddit for Steam has shown some inconsistencies.
Especially one missing arm had to come with a joke. Reddit user TL628 writes: “He clearly didn’t get the second arm DLC. The deluxe upgrade for complete limbs either.”
In another Reddit post, in addition to the missing arm, other strange scenes were found in the image. For example, the holders of some banners make little sense to the AI detectives, because in the image, several people are holding a banner, but it’s not entirely clear who is helping to hold it.
The top comment with over 4,000 upvotes seems to share the thoughts of many gamers. User believeinjuna writes: “It reminds me of how bad generative AI art was at the beginning. How can this be so bad? They didn’t even bother to make it look good.” (As of June 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM)
