A developer warns his fans against buying his own title on Steam, but the reason for this is well received by gamers.
Why does the developer warn? The community is currently discussing a strange message on Steam in a viral post on Reddit. The developer of Final Sentence warns that you should please not buy his game.
The warning hints that there will soon be a sale surrounding the game. And the developer wants to warn players against buying too early to save a few euros.
With the saved money, gamers should rather buy a coffee or an electric blower for their PC and keyboard; that would be worth the money.

A warning with consequences
What has the warning achieved? The honesty of the developer, who wants his fans to save money, was probably the best marketing action ever. The post about the warning went viral on Reddit and received over 31,000 upvotes there.
More than 10,000 gamers are asking about the title of the game and wonder how the poster could forget to link the game. In the comments, there is praise for the developer on Reddit:

What is the game about? The reason for the warning doesn’t come out of nowhere. Final Sentence is essentially a very special battle royale where you compete against other players in typing speed.
Errors and slow typing can lead to your end, which makes you automatically better and faster at typing. However, looking at the player numbers on SteamDB, there are only about 30 players at peak times during the day. Too few to really fill a battle royale with players and make it enjoyable.
While players can also play against friends in private lobbies, those who buy the game just like that might be disappointed and return it. Accordingly, it makes sense to wait for a sale and for more players to make the title more fun.
Despite the good marketing, The Final Sentence is not a title that has managed to convince the masses so far. If you want to play a real battle royale, you should check out Fortnite again, because your favorite characters are probably already there: The creators of Fortnite send Disney characters into a shooter to compete with ARC Raiders.
