In the MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online, there are many new contents with the new update The Wolves of Mordor in autumn 2026. Also included is a new neighborhood feature for housing, and MeinMMO has taken a closer look at it.
What does the new update include? The Wolves of Mordor is the new expansion for The Lord of the Rings Online and is set to launch in autumn 2026. The update focuses entirely on the very early history of Sauron from the First Age, as described in the Silmarillion.
As the Lord of Werewolves, Sauron commanded a small army of these werewolves for a time in the name of his master Morgoth. Accordingly, the new expansion will soon bring three new regions in the east of Mordor and the new enemy Draugardh – a werewolf. There will also be new player instances and a raid.
What is particularly special is that the housing feature in The Lord of the Rings Online will now introduce so-called neighbors. What exactly this entails and what you can do with it, we explored in our YouTube video on the subject:
Beloved Neighbors – or Not?
The new neighborhood feature in The Lord of the Rings Online allows NPCs to move into your house and around it. There should be one neighbor for each of the free peoples of Middle-earth, who will visit you because of your heroic deeds.
These NPCs give you quests. Instead of loot, you will be rewarded with diary entries and personal feedback. This will also increase the cohesion and friendship with your guests, which in turn should lead to gifts, milestones, and changing moods.
The neighbors have over 100 different personalities, each NPC bringing four with them. This makes each of them nearly unique.
Unfortunately, it is still unclear when the neighbors will actually move in with you and when you can start questing in Mordor’s new regions. As soon as we know more, you will read about it on MeinMMO.
