The new Enhanced version of Conan Exiles is sure to attract especially new players to the Exiled Lands. However, veterans with thousands of hours of playtime also seem enthusiastic about the update.
How is the Enhanced version received? Not only colleague (and Conan exiles newbie) Dariusz expresses his appreciation for the modernized version of the survival game from Funcom. There are as many players on Steam as there haven’t been in a long time in Conan Exiles (26,820 concurrent active Steam users at the 24-hour peak, which hasn’t happened since the summer of 2022, via steamdb.info).
The latest reviews on Steam are significantly more positive than average: 84 percent positive versus 78 percent. We find it particularly exciting that some of the new reviews come from veterans who have already spent thousands of hours with Conan Exiles.
- Anna (6,579 hours of playtime) writes in her review on Steam for example: “I love this game. It’s exciting, doesn’t get boring even after years, and you always discover something new. I hope they fix some bugs with the update. We have high hopes for this big update.”
- Myrkr (7,352 hours) also wants to recommend Conan Exiles on Steam: “I love this game! You can play it solo or with friends, learn about the world through the lore, or (with the help of mods) create your own. […] I highly recommend giving it a try if you like sandbox games, building, character creation, and exploration.”
- OMNIA even has 10,847 hours of playtime and writes on Steam: “I have been playing this game since early access. And I’ve definitely had my ups and downs with it. But I just have to give them huge respect for releasing such a fantastic version of the game. Any other company would have sold it as a ‘remaster’ for 60 € or so. Thank you, Funcom.”
Lighter, prettier, modern
What’s included in the update? The developers at Funcom have given the 8-year-old survival game a Unreal Engine 5 upgrade for the anniversary. Those who own the game can download and install it for free. The most important improvements include:
- Significantly improved environments, character models, lighting, and effects
- A redesigned user interface and numerous quality-of-life upgrades
- Performance of 60+ FPS across all graphics presets on most PCs
- Strong Steam Deck performance for portable survival fun
- Reduction of storage space from 105 to 61 GB
There are also gameplay changes. For example, you can now freely travel between the two maps Exiled Lands and Island of Siptah for the first time, and building, crafting, and repairing have also been optimized. You can find the extensive patch notes on funcom.com.
