The block action-adventure Hytale has entered Early Access. When the game is set to go into full release, on which platforms it is currently playable and all other information is here for you.
What is Hytale? Hytale is a sandbox RPG in block graphics. It comes from the game studio Hypixel Studios. Due to the visual similarities with Minecraft, it has already been referred to as Minecraft killer
.
Originally, the release was planned for 2021. However, this did not happen and the game was temporarily put on hold. Ultimately, Hytale was saved after all. On January 13, 2026, it has now gone live in Early Access.

When is Hytale expected to be released? Hytale started Early Access on January 13, 2026. When Hytale will go online in the final 1.0 version is currently still unclear.

In which languages is Hytale available? Hytale is currently basically only playable in English. However, the developers themselves refer to community translations via Crowdin in the following languages:

Is there a roadmap for Hytale? According to developers on the official website, the roadmap is not fully planned yet, as the team finalized the current build within just eight weeks. For now, the developers want to gather player feedback and release small updates quickly and often.
For which platforms will Hytale be released? Hytale can currently be played on Windows and Linux PCs and Macs. The game must be purchased through the official website.
Currently, Hytale is not available for PS5, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch, and cannot be purchased through Steam.
What about the servers of Hytale? The game can be played in several ways. On the one hand, the developers offer official servers. On the other hand, you can rent private servers through well-known providers, on which you can run Hytale sessions.

Are there mods for Hytale? Yes, there are mods for Hytale. At the time of this article’s release, 139 different mods for the game can be downloaded via Curseforge.com.
According to the developers (Hytale.com), modding is also a focal point for Hytale and will remain so. They specifically state that they lack years of development time, tools, and documentation. Accordingly, there are currently still limits on the editor functions and further limitations. However, they want to advance modding together with the players.
