Mods in Crimson Desert – Are there any? No, at least not at launch. Marketing Chief Will Powers explained in an interview (via YouTube) that there will initially be no official mod support at release. This is a question the team will address after the launch on March 19, 2026. We will continuously update our article as soon as there are news.

Official Mod Support in Crimson Desert – A Question for the Future
What are the chances of official mods? Whether there will be official support or corresponding tools for mods in Crimson Desert in the future is currently unclear. Powers asked the community in the interview what support they would even want and whether it was just about being able to walk around as Shrek in the world of Crimson Desert.
However, he would not rule out official support, but it would not be a priority for now. Still, this is definitely a topic that Powers and the team will not exclude. In the interview, he stated:
There is enough content to keep you busy at launch, and let’s revisit this conversation after the launch and see how it looks, because personally, I think the idea of modding isn’t bad. But does it make sense for this game? Or have we added enough features for someone to be able to do that?
Similarly, the question would have to be asked whether one would want mods in the game once multiplayer features would find their place. But that is all music of the future, and the focus is primarily on a clean launch.
In a newer talk with shareholders, there are still no hopeful news on this front. The developers still recognize the potential of a modding community, but would also need to further open their engine for that. However, they have nothing against it, but this step is currently still not planned.
Many players would certainly like to improve or rectify a weakness of the game from their perspective through mods.
