New Features with 1.0
Discord Integration
From now on, the Discord account can optionally be linked to the game. This should make it easier to play with friends and currently works only in the Steam and Mac versions.
Arena Legends
The match duration of a 4v4 arena match has been reduced from 5 to 2 minutes. There is now a ranking system.
In-Game Voice Chat
With 1.0, the in-game voice chat will be released.
Theft and Griefing Protection
Guild members can now receive certain roles that have respective rights, e.g., in the base. This is intended to prevent theft and griefing.
Save Server Passwords
Server passwords can now be saved in the client.
Raid Bosses
Within a guild, only one raid boss fight can be active at a time.
Palworld: Crossplay with PC, PS5, Xbox, and Game Pass
Is there crossplay? On March 19, 2025, the 0.50 update for Palworld was released. It now also includes crossplay, which is said to apply to all platforms.
Yes, there is crossplay, but you should note a few restrictions:
- PC and Xbox: Players on Xbox Series X|S can play together with players who started their game on PC via Game Pass.
- Steam and Xbox: Xbox and the Steam version of Palworld can now play together since the update.
- PS5 and PC: Crossplay between the PS5 and PC versions of Palworld is also possible since update 0.50. More info about the PS5 version of Palworld can be found on MeinMMO.
- PS5 and Xbox: Crossplay between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in Palworld is now possible.
- Steam and Game Pass: Crossplay between the Steam version and players with Game Pass is currently possible.
Developer Pocket Pair announced on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of Palworld that they want to work on a crossplay feature across all devices by the release. Now they have fulfilled their promise.
Multiplayer – PvE, PvP, and Progress
Does Palworld offer multiplayer? Yes, you can play Palworld in both single-player and multiplayer modes. You can also play offline by yourself. The best tips for Palworld can be found on MeinMMO.
What multiplayer options are there? Currently, you can play Palworld in the following ways:
- In co-op with up to 4 players.
- On a server with up to 32 people. Here, you can choose between different regions, such as EU, NA, or China.
- With the arena, Palworld also offers PvP content, which works as 4v4 matches in which each player can bring three Pals per player.
What you should note about multiplayer:
- All progress is saved by the host. If the host deletes the game, your character is gone.
- Your character is saved in the host’s game. If you join a game again, all progress of your character (level, inventory, technology, Paldex) is retained.
- You cannot transfer a character from single-player to multiplayer. This feature will come in a later update.
- Characters are currently tied to a specific server. However, you can transfer characters with tools.
- Steam achievements work for the host; players only have achievements for bosses so far.
- Server settings can be changed by the host at any time before each start. Therefore, you can make your game easier or harder later on as well.
- Now you can build a global Pal box, which allows you to transfer your Pals between multiple save files and servers. However, this only works within a game version: cross-save is not possible.

Palworld: All Current PvP Content
What PvP does Palworld offer? With the Sakurajima update, Palworld received a PvP arena. Since 1.0, there is a dedicated ranking system here.
The arena offers 4v4 matches, where each player can bring three Pals per player. Additionally, players can bring their best and favorite weapons. All items used in the arena (ammo, consumables) are fully refunded upon leaving the match.
Palworld: Server or Co-op Game?
Choosing a server: The official servers are hosted by Palworld, and performance is handled by the provider. However, you cannot freely choose which players you are with there. Depending on the region you choose, your connection’s ping may be very high. All admin commands for your server in Palworld can be found in the following article.
Hosting servers: With the Steam version, you can also host private servers. Currently, you have two options:
- Either you host the game on your own gaming PC. However, the server will turn off every time you shut down the PC.
- Or you find a dedicated hosting provider where you rent a spot. Prices range from 10 to 15 euros.
Since the Sakurajima update, there are now dedicated servers for Xbox and Game Pass users as well.
Palworld Server Minimum Requirements for 1-8 Players

Dedicated Server vs Community Server:
- Dedicated Server: You host the client independently of the game. Players connect to it via an IP address and a port. You can set the game as private or public.
- Community Server: Similar to a dedicated server, but the game is listed in the official server lists of Palworld. This allows it to be displayed in the client part of the game in the general list of servers that players can join.
Hosting Co-op Games: You host co-op games privately on your computer, but fast hardware is required. You can invite players to your private game. Up to 4 players can join simultaneously.
Server or Co-op: If you prefer a stable connection and want to play with friends or people you know, you should create a co-op session. However, keep in mind that progress is only saved by the host.
Hosting Multiplayer Games – Requirements and Settings
What you need to consider: If you want to host a multiplayer game, the creator (host) must bear the entire performance of the game. If you don’t have enough computing power, you can also reduce certain server settings, such as how many Pals spawn and how often or how many resources can be scattered around. Create a New Multiplayer Game:
- Select “Start Game” from the main menu.
- In the next menu, select a world or click “Create New World.”
- Enter a world name and confirm it.
- In the next menu, move the slider for “Multiplayer” from “Off” to “On.” Multiplayer is now activated.
- In the next step, you can choose a preset difficulty level or adjust your own settings.
- Now click confirm and confirm the following notice as well.
- In the next step, create your character.
- Once you are in the game, press Escape, and you will see the main menu. Here you will see the invitation code in the upper right corner.
- Your friends will click on “Join Multiplayer Game (Invitation Code)” in the main menu and can enter your code there.
- If everything goes well, your players will then enter character creation.
Palworld: Transfer Characters Between Servers
Is there an official way? No, currently not. At this time, characters are bound to the server and the map on which they were created. However, there is a global Pal box, which allows you to at least trade Pals between different servers or maps.
What options are there? The most well-known tool is probably PalworldSaveTool. You can find this software on Github.com. Here you can download the tool, extract it, and then start the appropriate .exe file of the tool.
Then you can transfer individual or all characters. You do this with the “Character Transfer” menu option: This is useful if you want to switch between a co-op and a dedicated server.
