Fans do not have to wait long for the release of Season 14 in Diablo 4, as it starts in a month. In a blog post, the developers revealed some details about the content of the new season and the upcoming PTR.

Season 14: Start, PTR and Patch Notes
When does Season 14 start? Season 14 starts on June 30, 2026, at 7:00 PM CEST. The corresponding patch 3.1.0 will be available for PC (Battle.net), PS5, and Xbox as a pre-download starting June 25, 2026, at 7 PM CEST.
When does Season 14 end? Every regular-sized season goes through a 90-day cycle until Blizzard replaces it with a new one. No concrete end date exists yet, but if we stick to the cycle, you can expect Season 14 to run until the end of September.
Is there a PTR for Season 14? Yes, and it ran in early June. You could test the planned changes and new content on the PTR (test server) for Season 14 from June 2 to June 9, 2026, via Battle.net. You had access to the SSF mode, seasonal features, the revamped Mythics, and new rewards for the Tower.

Season 14: Theme and New Features
What is the theme of Season 14? In Season 14, the veil of death lays over Sanctuary and the Season of the Awakened Death begins. In the blog post, Blizzard offers an insight into the seasonal content and changes to the base game.
This is included in Season 14:
- Rifts in the Realms of Madness: Rifts open in Sanctuary, introducing new monsters and Rift Goblins into the game. The seasonal mechanic also brings back the Realmshifters, which open portals to Blood Toll Chambers. These are one-room mini-dungeons with rewards, including Great Keys for Hideout bosses.
- Seasonal Hideout Boss: At torment levels, you can fight the Corrupted Soulreaper and open his loot chest with a Great Hideout Key. He offers the best chances for Mythics and the currency to upgrade Uniques.
- Revamped Mythics: “Mythic” is no longer a rarity tier with Season 14, but a variable item quality. Basically, now any Unique can become Mythic using Fragments of Madness at the Horadrim Cube. You receive the fragments by ranking up on the seasonal fame board and by defeating the Corrupted Soulreaper. After criticism of the changes to Mythics, Blizzard is responding and making adjustments.

- Updates for War Plans: You can seamlessly complete War Plans with your friends in a group. To do this, you must synchronize your War Plan game boards with the group. You receive a shared game board that generates a new War Plan for the entire team. Additionally, the XP for all War Plan activities from torment 8 onwards and the rewards for Hell Hordes are increased.
- Updates for the Horadrim Cube: You can modify Uniques in the Horadrim Cube using the recipes “Focused Reroll” and “Chaotic Reroll”. The effects of unmarked Uniques and Unique Talisman spells can be rerolled. Chromatic tuning prisms now also have a small chance to grant all resistances.
- SSF Mode: In this “Solo Self-Finder” mode, you are essentially a lone wanderer making their way through Sanctuary. You cannot play in a group, trade, or use coop content. And you only equip gear that you have “solo and self-found”.
- “Quality of Life” improvements: The gold cap is raised to 999,999,999,999, and the cap for obols is set to 25,000. There has been a lot of criticism from the community about this, as players had to teleport multiple times from dungeons to town to spend their obols. Boss trophies for Astaroth and Bartuc will also be added, and their recipes will be compiled in the Horadrim Cube. Additionally, you can rename your loot pets.
Season 14: Best Classes and Builds
What is the best class in Season 14? In the current Season 13, the “old” classes are at the top of the tier list. The new classes, namely Paladin and Warlock, perform rather poorly.
