The Man of Steel himself has shown how he inaugurates his new grill to welcome summer. Of course, Henry Cavill wouldn’t be Henry Cavill if he didn’t sneak in a little nod to Warhammer 40,000.
On Instagram the actor (Superman, The Witcher) shares pictures and short clips of his new smoker locomotive along with the result: pulled beef from the sirloin, sprayed with fat to make it juicier, smoked with oak wood, and seasoned with a black rub.
The delicious food here is certainly just a side note, as the actual highlight is not within the smoker, but on top of it. In the bottom right corner, some fans on Reddit have spotted a striking symbol, the emblem of the Adeptus Custodes.
Henry Cavill is an avid Warhammer fan and the Adeptus Custodes are his favorite army. It’s understandable that he has a fancy masterpiece of engineering – probably not from Mars – adorned with the insignia of his faction.

Alone, the Instagram post has over 29,000 comments congratulating Cavill on his purchase, and some looking enviously at his grilled food. By the way: The smoker locomotive comes from the British manufacturer Leviathan Pits and can be personally customized modularly. Prices range from about 3,000 to around 20,000 pounds (approximately 3,500-23,500 euros).
Mixed admiration tinged with envy can also be found on Reddit, where it states: “PC gamer, Warhammer nerd and smoking meat. It’s like looking in the mirror, only his reflection isn’t a corpulent, less attractive, 48-year-old, poor non-movie star person.”
If the Adeptus Custodes don’t mean anything to you: They are the super-soldiers who are even more superhuman than Space Marines and serve as the personal guard of the Emperor. Cavill is such a big fan of them that his genuine joy could be read on his face when fans gifted him a limited box during a shoot.
