Only a few players reach the Master rank in League of Legends. This usually requires a certain time investment. However, a member of the K-Pop group BTS has now achieved the rank while being on tour.
Which member is it? The Korean pop band BTS, which debuted in 2013, is currently on their new tour, the BTS World Tour Arirang, which started in May and runs until the end of the year. Apparently, Kim Tae-hyung, better known as V, has still found the time to play some League of Legends.
In a post that is actually about a boycott, he secretly revealed that he has now reached the Master rank in LoL.
It wasn’t really about LoL
What was that post about? As PCGamesN reports, V posted a story on Instagram explaining that BTS will not submit anything at this year’s Grammys. According to CNN, all 7 members of the band posted this. The special thing about V is the presentation of the post.
Above the actual message about the boycott, it prominently states: Highest rank. Master. Solo/Duo
. Below the Grammy text is the rank symbol for Master. This places him among the best players worldwide. According to League of Graphs, only 0.69% of players in Korea are currently at this rank, with only Grandmaster and Challenger above it.
An impressive achievement, especially considering he is currently on tour. This also seems to be his highest rank ever. According to allkpop, he already shared in an Instagram story at the beginning of June that he reached Diamond 2. So in 2 months, he has climbed significantly.

Why is BTS boycotting the Grammys at all? While the band did not provide a reason, many fans suspect it has to do with the new Best Asian Pop Music Performance
category. Critics believe that this may exclude Asian artists from the main category.
This theory fits well with the sentence from the BTS statement: We hope that music is heard and appreciated for what it is, rather than defined by regions or languages.
