On June 25, 2026, “Frozen Divide: Nyx” is the largest expansion yet for Throne and Liberty. MeinMMO summarizes the most important new features, informs you about the planned maintenance, and has the patch notes for you.
What does “Frozen Divide: Nyx” bring? The patch notes for the new expansion of Throne and Liberty are long and extensive. We have put them on the second page. Below you will find the major highlights:
- The eponymous region Nix, which is expected to approximately double the size of the currently playable world
- Gauntlets as a new weapon
- Expansion of the level phase up to level 60
- 2 new cooperative dungeons
- New movement mechanics for exploring Nix: the Aether suit and the Aurora path
- New world bosses and world events.
- New solo content called Tumgir Cave
- Comprehensive overhaul of the equipment system with the removal of a frustrating random component
All in all, Throne and Liberty will not only become much more extensive with the expansion, but also one of the biggest points of criticism from the Western community regarding the random factor in equipment progression will disappear. Additionally, there will be further adjustments to help new or returning players quickly reach the new endgame.
When can I start playing? Update 4.0.0 will be released on June 25, 2026, during a long maintenance phase on the servers. It starts at 7:30 AM. The worlds are expected to be unavailable for about 8 hours, until around 3:30 PM. Since Throne and Liberty is a free-to-play MMORPG, anyone interested can download the game and dive into all the content. However, many of the new contents are aimed at high-level characters.
What happens after the release? There is already a roadmap that plans further content updates for July, August, and September. These will include a new battlefield mode, 10 Ramux and Vegamor weapons each, an overhaul of dynamic events, plus additional endgame challenges. But see for yourself:

How is the community reacting to the expansion? Throne and Liberty has lost many players over time due to its high grind factor, random elements in character progression, the dominance of certain mega guilds, and its typically Asian traits. Accordingly, there is little hype for the new expansion.
However, that does not mean that players are not excited about the announced new features. In current discussions on Reddit, the patch notes and the plans are well received.
