On the way to Level 50 in Pokémon GO, you had to collect a lot of XP and complete tasks. We summarize everything you need to know about the leveling phase here.
Instead, there are now new tasks you must complete from Level 71 to 80.
In Pokémon GO, the max level in the game was Level 50. That was 10 new levels that were activated in the game.
During the announcement, Niantic explained that leveling experience has changed. Previously, trainers only had to collect millions of XP to level up in Pokémon GO.
With the revision of the levels, every trainer now had to complete tasks and additionally collect XP. Only when both were fulfilled did the level-up occur.
Level 41

This is expected: The platinum medals are new ranks above gold medals. You can increase them by pushing the requirements for gold medals even further. So win even more arena battles, win even more often against other trainers in PvP, or get more best friends in the game.
