Everything is Crab is a new animal evolution roguelite that looks cute and has been well-received by gaming enthusiasts since its release on Steam on May 8, 2026. The developers are already celebrating their first milestone.
What exactly is Everything is Crab? The roguelite from developer Odd Dreams Digital and publisher Secret Mode allows you to combine animals in each run, affecting the appearance of your monster and your gaming experience. Sometimes you are a snail with antlers, sometimes a crocodile with tentacles, or something cuddly with a house on its back.
The countless variants for legs, claws, pincers, wings, and tails provide you with even more builds and styles. There are supposed to be over 125 abilities in the release version already. How is the game being received? Very well! On Steam, the roguelite currently holds 89 percent positive reviews, even though the number of reviews is still quite small (1,070 as of May 10, 2026, at 10:13 AM). However, this doesn’t mean that Everything is Crab is flying completely under the radar. According to a report from the developers on Steam, their new game has sold over 100,000 units in less than 48 hours.
What sets Everything is Crab apart is well summarized in the Steam review by Mondfuchs:
I found the demo incredibly fun and really addictive. It was always perfect for a quick round in between, without feeling like you had to play for hours. Now the finished game is here – and it does exactly that even better.
The rounds are pleasantly brief, and with so many possibilities, no game really feels the same. Sometimes you play a huge character that crushes everything, and in the next round, you win as a small, cunning opponent who poisons everything in its way. This variety is what keeps the game enjoyable over time.
Additionally, I find it particularly positive that the developers listen to the community. Many criticisms and wishes from players have already been noted and are already on the roadmap – including things like keybinding and further improvements. You can really tell that this game is being developed together with the community and the developers genuinely value player feedback.
