Since Dawntrail, the MMORPG has been suffering from a steady decline in players due to several factors. The number of currently active characters at the end of the Patch 7.4 cycle is only 770,000, according to the census from the Japanese blog Lucky Bancho. Thus, the game is currently not reaching its peak times of 1,020,000 active characters at the release of the penultimate DLC “Endwalker”.
