Setting and Story
Where will Evercold take place? Similar to Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers, Evercold will not take place in the main world but in one of the shard worlds. This time, the Warrior of Light is transported to the fourth reflection, which has been shrouded in eternal ice since a catastrophe.
What will the story of Evercold be? So far, it is not definitively known what exactly Evercold will be about. Only a few pieces of information are currently available. Specifically, we know that the Warrior of Light is sent to the fourth reflection, which is completely frozen.
Currently, everything indicates a similar story arc as in Shadowbringers, where the shard world needs to be saved. The trailer for the expansion also suggests that the reunion of all reflections with the original world is being considered. However, the players have actively tried to prevent this goal in all previous expansions.
Races and Cities
Will there be new races? There will be at least one new friendly race, which consists of small cats that walk on two legs. However, it is currently unknown if there will be new races for character creation.
What is known about the cities so far? The first city of Evercold that has been revealed is called “Fargarth”. It is located on “Naglfar”, the airship of water and one of the new areas of Evercold.

What new locations will there be? In total, there are supposed to be 5 airships representing the new areas of the expansion. So far, 2 of them are known:
- Naglfar – Airship of Water
- Hringhorni – Airship of Fire
