How have the developers reacted? The developers of Where Winds Meet did not just let the cheaters go unpunished, but intervened. They are now stating on their website WhereWindsMeetGame.com that over 5,000 cheaters have been banned so far. They also published a list of the names involved, thus exposing them.
Some affected cheaters are reporting on Reddit, stating they have been banned from the game for a full 10 years. The developers are certainly not being lenient with the cheaters. However, they explain that they evaluate cases individually, especially in PvP.
What about PvP? In Where Winds Meet, there is an active PvP system. Players can compete against each other in an arena and duel. The winner receives points and can continue to climb the leaderboard.
If you fight against cheaters here, losing seems inevitable and doubly bitter, simply because you also lose leaderboard points. The developers have not only banned cheaters from the game but also restricted their participation in PvP modes.
