Highlights of the week:
- Entropia Universe introduced the new Synths this week. This is an advanced form of NPCs that are designed to grow, learn, and explore the world alongside the regular player characters. What happened with MMORPGs in development:
- Ragnarok Online is one of the MMORPGs that built a passionate fan base years before World of Warcraft. Now the genre classic is celebrating an exciting comeback, which the devs unfortunately ruin immediately with their greed.
- The fantasy MMORPG Hollowed Oath has successfully completed its Kickstarter campaign in just under two weeks and is now working on the first stretch goals. Meanwhile, one of the developers is discussing the dangers of crowdfunding projects and the planned release on the Steam Machine with the players.
- Fans of MMORPGs are currently waiting for Aion 2. The company behind the game has now presented its plans up to 2030 and numerous projects. The next highlight could await us in the first half of 2027.
- The pixel art MMO Soulbound Online is set to be available soon via Steam. The focus is on arena-based dungeon battles, cooperative challenges for up to 3 players, and a deep equipment and crafting progression. There is currently no specific release date.
- The Free2Play MMORPG Eterspire released a new roadmap for the early access version on Steam. By August, guilds, daily quests, and woodcutting will be added to the game.
- On the official Discord, the developers of Pax Dei revealed details about upcoming changes to the aggro management of opponents.
