A limit in World of Warcraft has spontaneously been removed today. You can upgrade your gear without any limits.
Since the expansion Dragonflight, there is a significantly more complex item system in World of Warcraft. Items no longer have a fixed item level but exist on different “paths” – such as “Adventurer”, “Hero”, or “Mythic”. To make items more powerful, you need to upgrade them with the appropriate tokens (and a bit of gold).
However, these tokens were limited – until now. Now you can farm them infinitely.
Infinite Tokens for Infinite Upgrades
What has changed? With today’s maintenance, the cap on all tokens has been removed. Previously, you could only collect a limited number of tokens in each category per week. This cap increased by 100 each week.
Now this limit has completely disappeared, allowing you to collect tokens without a weekly maximum.
What does this mean in concrete terms? In plain text, it means that you can upgrade your gear to the maximum within this week, as long as you farm enough tokens. Also, keep in mind that you can exchange lower tokens for higher ones, which speeds up the entire process significantly.
Those who wish and are not daunted by tougher content can play relatively easy content and exchange tokens for better ones to gradually upgrade their gear. While this is not the most efficient way, it allows solo players to achieve the maximum possible upgrades.
Keep in mind that there is also an additional boost, as with the Void Cores you can significantly improve heroic and mythic items.
Why is Blizzard doing this now? The fact that the developers have removed the cap on earning tokens without any major prior announcement raises some questions. The most likely answer is that Blizzard waited until the Hall of Fame for all current raids was filled – which happened a few days ago. That the token cap was removed with the next weekly reset seems logical, as there is now no “race” for victory anymore.
Will you use the removal of the cap to collect a significant amount of tokens and upgrade your gear again? Or have you already achieved your goals for the first season of Midnight? Let us know in the comments.
Even though season 1 feels like it is nearing its end, there will soon be a new raid – which defies all the rules you have known about mythic raids.
