Fans of MMORPGs are currently waiting for Aion 2. The company behind it has now presented its plan until 2030 and is releasing many games.
Who is it about? NC (formerly NCSoft) is well-known among fans as the creators of Aion 2, Throne and Liberty, or the Lineage series. The public learns about the company’s status at least every 3 months because the game developer must inform its shareholders publicly.
This time, the presentation was particularly grand and also gave us a glimpse into NC’s future along with many games.

A new MMORPG as early as 2027
What was announced? The creators of Aion 2 talked about their release plan until 2030 during their presentation. They reveal which titles are in their game pipeline. A highlight is likely the announcement of the Horizon MMORPG for the first half of 2027.
This comes after Aion 2 and is therefore earlier than we expected, and could even coincide with Chrono Odyssey in terms of timing. But other titles have also been announced by the developers:
- 2026 – 1st half of the year
- Lineage Classic
- Lineage W (Southeast Asia)
- 2026 – 2nd half of the year
- Limit Zero Breakers
- Cinder City
- Time Takers
- Aion 2
- 2026 – Without a specific timeframe
- Aion Mobile (China)
- Two more spin-offs
- Regional expansions
- Lineage M (China)
- Lineage 2M (China)
- 2027 – 1st half of the year
- Horizon Steel Frontiers

The titles will not all be released in the West; receiving two MMORPGs within a year is definitely a good sign for the struggling genre.
Not all titles will be developed by NC itself; for Limit Zero Breakers, Time Takers, and Astrae Oratio, the company is only the publisher. As always, the information provided is not set in stone but reflects the current perspective of the developers that may change.
The developers at NC want to cater to other genres despite strong MMORPG titles. Therefore, they aim to push forward in the shooter and mobile casual sectors until 2030.
