The powerful Mythic items in World of Warcraft are the best you can get. In the next patch, you will get them almost for free.
The best items in World of Warcraft belong to the “Mythic” path. This is the highest item level you can currently achieve in the game. Accordingly, these items are highly sought after. However, you can only get them from the hardest raids or from “Mythic+” dungeons. Group play is therefore essential to obtain the best loot.
But with patch 12.0.7, that will change. For the first time, you can enjoy some Mythic items purely through “Open World” activities.
Mythic Items for Content in the Open World
What do you have to do for the items? In patch 12.0.7, there is a new quest from the Domanaar Decimus. He wants you to bring him 4 emblems from void commanders – those are the world bosses available on the two smaller worlds Naigtal and Val. You need to defeat them on heroic world difficulty to obtain the emblems. Previously, it was debated what purpose the heroic world difficulty should have.
Most likely, this quest will take 4 weeks if you defeat one of the bosses each week.
Why is this special? Mythic items are among the most powerful things you can acquire in World of Warcraft. Usually, these rewards are also tied to the toughest content. That you can now relatively easily obtain them by defeating world bosses is a new phenomenon for WoW.
However, one should keep in mind that with patch 12.0.7, the first season of Midnight is slowly coming to an end. Therefore, it is not a huge loss for most players who have worked significantly harder for their gear – they will have likely achieved their goals in the current season anyway.
How good are these items? Even though they are “just” cape, belt, or bracers that have lower stats than chest or helm, these items should be really strong upgrades for most solo fans. Those who only play activities in the open world or delves will likely feel a significant boost. You can gather even more upgrades since last Wednesday. Because since then, the limitation for emblems has been lifted, allowing you to farm endlessly to upgrade all items to the maximum.
