Along with the DLC, the system requirements for The Witcher 3 have also been raised. SSDs are now mandatory. Additionally, the game now only runs on DirectX12. Hello and welcome to our live ticker for the DLC “Songs of the Past” for The Witcher 3. Well, who would have thought. Originally, the expansion was supposed to be announced tomorrow evening at 5:00 PM, but a mistake in the launcher from CD Projekt RED spoiled the surprise.
In our live ticker, we are now monitoring the official channels of the developers as well as social media and will report any news regarding the upcoming DLC for the witcher game.
What did I miss? Soon on May 28, 2026, the anniversary stream for the DLC “Blood and Wine” will take place, as the expansion will soon be almost 10 years old. For many, a reason to celebrate, but aside from that, rumors spread. CD Projekt RED is said to be planning a major announcement for an upcoming DLC in which Geralt from Rivia will once again embark on an adventure (Source: press.cdprojektred.com)
Even if it sounded absurd at first, fans’ suspicions have come true. The developers have been working on a new expansion in the background, which was actually supposed to be announced during the upcoming stream. Unfortunately, an entry about the DLC appeared hours beforehand on the Polish version of the launcher and ruined the surprise.
What information is currently known about the DLC? Not much actually. The DLC is set to be released in 2027 for the platforms PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In late summer, fans will learn more details about the DLC. The expansion is called Songs of the Past and you will once again take on the role of Geralt, the witcher.
