What does the new update bring? On April 13, 2026, “Radiant Wilds” was released for Albion Online and focuses primarily on the visual overhaul of the entire world of the MMORPG. The developers promise improved lighting, revamped vegetation, optimized ground textures, and new water graphics.

What else is part of the update? Other highlights of “Radiant Wilds” include:
- the new weapon storage, allowing players to discover effective builds based on data from other players

- improvements to controller support with features such as a new controller HUD, a controller layout for the main menu, radial menus, and enhanced targeting controls
- optimizations for the destiny board and combat mounts, as well as the introduction of a feature to collect all loot with the push of a button

What does the near future bring? Albion Online will be released on April 21, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S. Thanks to cross-progression and a free-to-play model, you can seamlessly continue playing your existing accounts and characters on the new platform.

What do I need to know about Albion Online? The nearly 9-year-old MMORPG is from developers Sandbox Interactive based in Berlin and is considered one of the few positive examples of successful MMORPGs funded via crowdfunding. The player counts have steadily increased over the past years.
The largest player increase came in 2024 with the first EU server, which significantly positively impacted not only simultaneous active users but also viewer counts on Twitch .
