What to expect in GTA Online
What is GTA Online? GTA Online is the multiplayer for Grand Theft Auto V. You create a character and enter the vast and open game world. Lester, Franklin, and other acquaintances continuously invite you to new missions.
Through missions, you earn money, buy weapons and vehicles to earn even more money. The goal is to create as many revenue streams as possible so that you can afford the new content like cars, properties, and weapons that Rockstar regularly introduces in GTA 5 Online.
Slowly but surely, you earn a fortune with contact missions, heists, vehicle trading, drug labs, money laundering, and other criminal activities. This allows you to purchase crazy vehicles like rocket-equipped flying motorcycles or the finest luxury cars.
What content does GTA Online offer? GTA Online offers you pretty much everything your heart desires:
- a large, open world with many sights and activities
- Races with bicycles, motorcycles, boats, airplanes, supercars, monster trucks, stunt racers, and more
- PvP in free-for-all, team modes or in open world
- various ways to earn currency passively or actively
- Vehicle tuning for hot sports cars or fun scooters
- crazy characters in story and multiplayer
The cost of GTA Online: When you buy GTA 5, GTA Online is included. You only need to register an account with the Social Club.
In the Enhanced version, GTA 5 costs around 30 euros. However, it is regularly discounted in sales – those with some patience can get the game in offers for 15 euros.

Why is it worth playing GTA Online in 2026? In the years since release, the online mode of GTA 5 has continuously been enhanced with new content. Solo players can earn money as a CEO or Motorcycle Club Leader and start their empire. Even the heists have been designed so that they can be completed alone and without additional participants. In Cayo Perico, you can earn millions of dollars alone.
Those of you who simply enjoy racing and want to compete with others have the choice between dozens of racetracks designed by Rockstar and even more tracks created by players.

However, if you simply enjoy competing against other players in PvP, you can do so alone in the open world or engage in one of the many multiplayer shooting modes that matchmake you with a variety of players.
GTA Online is still fun to this day and is worth a deeper look due to the many diverse contents. New DLCs are regularly released, which you can download and use for free. New heists, weapons, and cars are waiting for you.
What are the problems with GTA Online? After a few hours in the online world, you will notice that most content is really expensive. GTA Online doesn’t try to hide this much. The most expensive supercar costs about 35 € or many hours of grinding.
Sessions are often visited by modders on PC. If you are lucky, they will ignore you. If you are unlucky, your character will ignite and repeatedly die until you switch sessions.
