What to Expect in Diablo 4
What is Diablo 4? In Diablo 4, players are transported to Sanctuary. Inarius and Lilith, the creators of the world, are fighting for dominance in a rather intense marital dispute. The victims are their children: the humans.
The action RPG aims for players to embark on a hunt for the best loot. For this, they slash their way through various monster hordes with the character class of their choice. The title offers great freedom in character creation through the skill system.
What content does Diablo 4 offer? For the first time in the Diablo main series, there is an open world where you can encounter other players. Once you have completed the campaign, you can look forward to the following endgame content:
- The Tree of Whispers
- World Event: Hell Flood
- World Bosses
- Nightmare Dungeons
- Fields of Hatred (PvP)
- Seasons
- Paragon Board
- Leaderboards
Every 3 months, Blizzard provides the game with a new season. Here players can expect new story content, enemies, and rewards – around December 2025, Season 11.
Additionally, in October 2024, the first expansion Vessel of Hatred was released, bringing new story content, the class of the Spirit-Born, fresh endgame challenges, mercenaries, and more. The next expansion Lord of Hatred is expected to come in 2026.
The cost Diablo 4: Diablo 4 is available in different editions. The Standard Edition costs 49.99 Euros on Steam, for example. However, you can also purchase the expansion pack with the expansion for 69.99 Euros.
Additionally, the seasonal Battle Pass costs some Platinum if you want more than just the free rewards. You have the choice between the normal Battle Pass (1,000 Platinum) and the accelerated Battle Pass (2,880 Platinum), which skips 20 levels.

Why is it worth playing Diablo 4 in 2026? Diablo 4 is currently simply the ultimate casual ARPG. No other game in the genre is as accessible and entertaining. Path of Exile (2), its biggest competitor, may go deeper, but it also requires much more effort to achieve something.
In Diablo 4, each class has at least one build that allows you to complete even the toughest content in some way. At the end of the day, it’s all about slaying demons. The game delivers that par excellence.
Especially excellent are the gameplay and feel of the individual classes. Each of the available classes has unique skills and a kit that seamlessly integrates and allows for exciting builds.
Above all, the special class mechanics provide a unique gaming experience. With Vessel of Hatred, even the popular rune words are back in the game, albeit in modified form.
Diablo 4 is a service game that is regularly updated. Every 3 months, a new season arrives, allowing the developers to test new features and fix old issues. This ensures variety and that you tend to have an increasingly better gaming experience as the year progresses. A first expansion has already been released with a new class, and a second is in the works.
What are the problems of Diablo 4? The biggest criticism of Diablo 4 is the endgame content, which quickly becomes insufficient for frequent players, as well as the community’s perception of not particularly innovative changes each season. The seasonal content often feels similar. The impression is: every second season is exciting, while the ones in between are rather dull.
