Frospino graces the Community Day in June 2026 in Pokémon GO. The Ice dinosaur is a real highlight. Here are our tips for the event.
When does the Community Day start? The Community Day on June 20 starts at 2:00 PM. It ends at 5:00 PM. However, some bonuses last longer, more on that below.
Which Pokémon will appear? Frospino is the Pokémon of the day. This Ice Dragon Pokémon comes from the ninth generation of games. It evolves into Cryospino and ultimately into Espinodon.
Espinodon belongs to the so-called pseudo-Legendary Pokémon. These are Pokémon that, by definition, are not Legendary, yet their stats are so high that they stand on par with many Legendaries.
You can tell: This is a good Pokémon. Moreover, Espinodon has been given a new Mega Evolution in Legends Z-A. While it is not yet available in Pokémon GO, it will eventually appear. Having a good specimen in advance can be beneficial.

Who is the Community Day with Frospino worth it for?
In short: for everyone, both collectors and fighters. Frospino was for a long time a very rare Pokémon, and now you have a really simple way to secure the Shiny of the monster and enough candies for evolution. Also, for finding a specimen with good stats, today’s event is a great opportunity since so many Frospino will appear.
In terms of battles, Espinodon will be one of the best attackers of the Ice type when you face off in raids or gyms. And even in Master League, Espinodon can at least fill a niche.
Overall: a strong Pokémon.
How do I prepare for the Community Day in June 2026?
Clear Space: It is worthwhile to catch every specimen of this Pokémon you can find, as you need a lot of candies and want to take advantage of the chance for 4 stars as often as possible. So throw out anything from your Pokémon box that you no longer need. Here are tips for sorting the Pokémon box.
What items do I need? Various items will help you make the most of the day.
- Balls: You should have a large supply of Poké, Super, and Ultra Balls. If you are short on balls, visit PokéStops, spin gyms, open gifts from friends, and your buddy Pokémon.
- Incense: Lasts for one hour and can attract Shiny Frospino even after the event. Useful if you can’t play enough between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
- Smoke: Brings you more encounters while walking.
- Sananabeeren: A good choice to earn more candies.
- Star Piece: There is already triple catching Stardust during the event. With a Star Piece, you can increase the Stardust amount by an additional 1.5 times. It’s worth it here as well.
Which Mega Pokémon should I activate? If you use an active Mega Pokémon of the Ice or Dragon type, you will receive more XP and candies for catching Frospino. The following will work:
