The Red Wedding is probably one of the most famous scenes in the entire series. In the books, Catelyn, Robb, and many other Starks are brutally slaughtered as well. But here, the story goes further.
Several days later, Catelyn’s body is found by Beric Dondarrion. That’s the guy who has died and come back to life multiple times. He actually manages to breathe new life into Catelyn, even though he dies in the process.
However, it didn’t go as smoothly as, for example, Jon’s resurrection in the series. Catelyn is no longer truly herself. She is more of a kind of zombie, with gray skin and severe injuries that won’t heal. Due to the deep cut in her throat, she can only speak with great difficulty, rasping. And she has even changed her name. She is now known as Lady Stoneheart.
What has remained, however, is her unyielding hatred for all those involved in the Red Wedding. She takes command of the Brotherhood without Banners and vows bitter revenge on her enemies. Lady Stoneheart is, therefore, an enormously important character from the books, who was unfortunately completely removed from the series.
