What kind of game is this?
Endless Legend is at its core a classic 4X strategy game. You have to build cities, supply them with food, and boost industry, science, and prosperity.
Similar to Civilization, you can choose from different races, but in a fantasy world full of magic and strange beings.
What makes Endless Legend 2 so special: The gameplay is similar to Civilization. You build cities, train troops, and explore a world laid out in hexagonal fields in turns. Victory conditions are quite classic: Domination, Diplomacy, Economy, Wonders, or Research.
However, there is a special victory condition in Endless Legend: Quests. Similar to Warhammer 40,000: Gladius or ZEPHON, each race has various tasks it can fulfill to achieve a victory.
In principle, this replaces the classic campaign and brings a role-playing factor into the game. This is enhanced by heroes and council members with various effects.
Compared to its predecessor, Endless Legend 2 features a “Drought” mechanic: At a certain point, the sea level lowers, and new areas of the map become accessible. This changes the dynamics in the middle of the game.

A lot of exciting content for solo players
There are now reports from the first testers who were able to try out two of the factions for 125 turns. Although the quest victories are not yet implemented, there is great praise for the mechanics.
