IGN has released a small teaser trailer for Diablo 4. There, we see the main villain of the ARPG’s main campaign along with the player. Fans are excited to see him again.
Who is the main villain of Diablo 4? The demon Lilith is the main villain in Diablo 4 – at least in the base game. She is in conflict with the angel Inarius there. Together, they created Sanctuary, the world of Diablo, and the Nephalem, the humans that we embody as players (or at least their ancestors).
Her goal was to forcibly return humanity to its original Nephalem strength through suffering and the absorption of Mephisto’s power. At the end of Diablo 4, Lilith seemingly dies and turns to dust.
What does the teaser show? On YouTube, you can watch the short in-game cinematic for the upcoming expansion “Lord of Hatred”. This is set to release on April 28, 2026, for PC, PS5, and Xbox.

Another Reddit user can hardly believe their eyes and asks: “What the hell is going on here? I haven’t played in a few years, and now Lilith is holding hands with the main character?”
Why are so many looking forward to Lilith? Although Lilith was the antagonist in Diablo 4, some players write that they wish for Lilith’s return or that they would have liked to side with her. According to a fan, the ending from Lilith’s perspective is convincing, even if her actions are not good. Additionally, he was disappointed when Lilith was killed.
Another player also wishes for Lilith’s return, as she was the only one who genuinely cared about Sanctuary and humanity. In addition to these statements, several fans remind that Lilith is a master of manipulation and built her goal at the expense of countless humans.
