After Hours
When is the release? On 24 July 2018.
What’s included? The highlight of the After-Hours update is the nightclubs, where you can earn money. At the same time, you can also use the nightclub in the true sense and dance there. The young professional player Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki was considered an exceptional talent in American League of Legends after his fantastic debut season 2021/2022. However, the then 18-year-old suddenly decided to skip the finals and disappeared from the spotlight. Now he returns as a content creator, and more details about the circumstances of his career ending are coming to light: Apparently, his team did not adequately care for the needs of the now 19-year-old.
Less than half a year later, in September 2022, the pressure seemed to be too much for the young professional: Danny took a break, opted not to play in the next final, wanting to focus on his mental health.
Private messages from Danny’s friends and family, published in December 2022 by LEC analyst Caedrel, shed a different light on the matter: The young player reportedly returned home in poor condition, possibly undernourished and malnourished.
Allegations against the LoL professional’s team, Evil Geniuses, arose. CEO Nicole LaPointe Jameson, however, denied everything. Almost a year after his great success, Danny returned at the end of February 2023 and defended his team.

Where did the information come from? According to information from the US site Dexerto, several sources from the e-sports organization spoke up and discussed Danny’s treatment. Journalists Richard Lewis, Duncan “Thorin” Shields, and Arsh Goyal published analyses that depicted how much EG had let the young player down.
How did the problems start? According to Goyal, the difficulties surrounding Danny began during the Mid-Season Invitational in May 2022, which took place in Busan, South Korea.

The 2nd round of the playoffs, a best-of-five against TSM, apparently tipped the scale: Staff were already trying to avoid prolonged stress for the 18-year-old, but the match turned out to be a tremendous burden. Due to audio problems, the game dragged on for over 8 hours, which was apparently too much for the young professional.
After the devastating Bo5 against TSM, it was reportedly clear to internal sources that Danny was not in condition to continue playing. His teammates, of whom only Jeong “Impact” Eon-yeong knew beforehand how the 18-year-old was doing, expressed concerns.
According to Goyal, Coach Peter Dun was approached by a member of the leadership team to persuade Danny to play against Team Liquid. Dun reportedly refused and, as a result of the demand, decided not to extend his contract with EG.
Despite all the concerns, the 18-year-old played against Team Liquid. Before the match, management members reportedly made disparaging remarks about the young player: it was damn annoying that he ruined everything.
Following the match, Danny flew home to his family and withdrew from the public eye.
18-year-old was reportedly underweight and malnourished
How serious was Danny’s condition? Upon returning home, the 18-year-old reportedly was severely underweight and had several associated medical problems. However, he allegedly declined a hospital stay, as it had come this far only due to his stay in an unfamiliar environment.
For the family, Danny’s condition was a shock: apparently, no one had informed them about the health concerns. They were also assured that mental health would be taken into consideration and that the young player would be adequately cared for – this was not the case.
Riot is investigating Evil Geniuses
What are the consequences? In December 2022, Twitch streamer Caedrel published private messages from family members, leading to allegations against the organization. As reported by the US site Dexerto, a spokesperson for the LCS confirmed that they were aware of the allegations regarding Danny’s treatment.
By the end of 2022, an external law firm was apparently commissioned to investigate. However, the investigation is still ongoing.
The accusation that a coach lost his job after advising the family to contact the LCS Players Association, however, has yet to be confirmed.
More focus on mental health in e-sports
What else went wrong? Other staff raised allegations against EG that go beyond Danny’s case: Management has no connection with staff, makes wrong decisions, and overall lacks empathy.
What does Danny say himself? In his announcement to work as a content creator for Evil Geniuses from now on, Danny defended the organization: The pressure was simply too much for him, but he received ongoing support from EG (via Twitter).
What could have been done better? Nevertheless, the question remains whether the crisis could have been prevented if there had been a stronger focus on mental health within the organization and in e-sports in general.
Goyal describes the staff of EG in his report as “shockingly ill-equipped” to deal with crises in mental health. Warning signs were overlooked and boundaries were crossed because no one knew better.
The organization urgently needed an expert in mental health to work with players and advise them in decision-making. The problems did not originate from the unhealthy internal culture of the organization, but from the general neglect of mental health.

Why has Destiny 2 become harder? Since Lightfall, Bungie has created a new difficulty philosophy for Destiny 2, because players found a lot of things too easy and, over the seasons, the power creep and other changes have made guardians stronger and enemies weaker.
With the old space abilities, almost every enemy could be killed too easily, and some activities were done with one hand behind the back.
Now guardians must be focused and invest in builds, mods, and good gear to succeed. While some activities, like the new raid, have become much more accessible for all players even during the 48-hour contest mode, others that used to be farmed for hours have become a challenging but necessary endeavor.
Normal patrols and the public event in Neomuna have increased in difficulty.
Lost sectors, where players farm for the new exotics, have received a permanent combat delta of +20.
What does combat delta mean in Destiny 2?
Almost every activity in Destiny 2 now has power level handicaps or a scaling combat delta to create a better challenge curve. High-difficulty activities have a hero level at -5, legendary at -15, grandmaster at -20, and pinnacle nightfalls at -25 power level.
Lost sectors, on the other hand, are an exception. They have a so-called combat delta of +20. This means players are not limited here, but can boost their artifact power to be +20 over the enemies. Additionally, there are threats that depend on the currently featured lost sector, such as “Enemies are harder to stagger and have more health.”
This makes even the smallest tasks for some players, like a solo sector, a tiring and frustrating challenge.

This is what players are criticizing: Players are currently having issues especially with the lost sectors. Due to missing artifact power, a sector feels like a disgusting, artificial difficulty that has been imposed on them in Lightfall.
Worse is the fact that even if one fights through and succeeds, the reward often consists of just a handful of glimmer, nothing more.
This understandably makes farming the new exotic armor pieces from Lightfall feel much more exhausting and even less efficient than in the “The Witch Queen” DLC. And this is despite the fact that the new Vex event also has an extra option to drop exotics.
Bungie had already announced in advance that they would be looking at completion rates and times throughout season 20. They should also check the drop rates for exotic engrams and improve them if necessary. But it could already be too late, as many players have already given up on farming.
As the player betachief77 writes in a reddit post that has already received 2k upvotes:
It feels like Bungie has killed exotic farming in Lightfall, as the lost sectors of the solo legend [due to the new combat delta] are like pulling teeth to complete.
Rewarding loot chests are missing: Many might still come to terms with the new difficulty. Especially since the mods and the new subclass strand have introduced strong build options into the game, which are helpful. Alone with strand, a lost sector can be played well solo despite the combat delta.
However, there is a consensus that the increase in difficulty would at least require a corresponding increase in rewards from the loot chests. No one should be sent home at the end of a grandmaster sector with just glimmer and a damp handshake.
However, many players would already be satisfied if they received at least one piece of gear at their power level at the end of a lost grandmaster sector that at least benefits them.
Currently, Bungie has evidently not yet ignited excitement for the new difficulty among players.

This is the image in question: On March 16, athe “Growing Together” expansion (via GameStar) will be released for Sims 4, focusing on children, family, and growing up. As usual, it brings a whole lot of new features and items, ranging from clothes to furniture, but one thing stands out even before release.
It is a board where Sims kids can pin and display their drawings. In a screenshot, alongside colorful pictures of gloves and mushrooms, there is also a blue bird in space that will set off alarm bells for some FFXIV fans.
What kind of bird is it? In the story of Endwalker, everything revolves around the impending end of all life in the universe. The reasons for this catastrophe lie thousands of years in the past, when the world of FFXIV was not yet split into 14 mirror worlds.
Back then, a scientist named Hermes created the being Meteion and her sisters and sent them into the vastness of the universe to seek the meaning of life.
Meteion usually appears as a young girl, but can also transform into a blue bird.
As it had to happen: Meteion’s sisters discovered nothing but death, destruction, and terrible suffering on their journey. Their logical conclusion was that the best option was for everyone to die so that no one would suffer anymore. So, they set about cruelly exterminating life in the universe.
Although Meteion plays an important role in the overarching story of FFXIV, she only takes the stage very late. Back in summer 2022, fans discovered some items with names and descriptions that contained more or less subtle references to Square Enix’s MMORPG.
For example, there is the furniture piece “Racked Teak-a Greatshelves,” which refers to the Rak’Tika forest, an area from the Shadowbringers expansion.
In the description, it mentions the “Warriors of Write,” which refers to “Warriors of Light,” i.e., the Warriors of Light.

What kind of class is this? The Huntress is characterized mainly by her high mobility and her ability to switch between melee and ranged combat. She uses either daggers, swords, bows, or crossbows as weapons.
To annihilate her enemies, the Huntress uses traps and can imbue her weapons with various effects. These effects include, for example, poison, shadow, and ice, but there should be more. She can fluidly change these effects in combat and also confer them to her teammates.
The class-specific mechanic of the Huntress is the class specializations, which enhance her in battle. There are a total of 3 of them:
Shadow Realm allows you to escape into the shadow world, where you are safe from enemies. However, you can drag enemies with you into this world to defeat them there.
Combos allow you to build points by using basic skills. These are then consumed by other abilities to activate special effects.
Exploit Weakness allows you to perform counterattacks that deal extra damage to enemies who are currently preparing a skill.
Only one of the 3 specializations can be active at a time, and they will play a role in the Huntress’s quests.

What kind of class is this? Druids are the guardians of nature in Sanctuary and use their power to extinguish the hordes of hell. The class can deal physical attacks and also cast spells. However, unlike the actual Sorceresses, Druids master the magic of wind and earth.
The class’s abilities cause tornadoes, windstorms, landslides, and earthquakes that devastate everything around you. You can also use the power of nature for defense, for example in the form of a wind shield or earth armor.
The connection with nature is also shown through the Druids’ companions. In battle, the Druids can be aided by wolves, ravens, and living plants. They themselves can also transform. A Druid can shred its opponents in the form of a bear.
The class mechanic of the Druid allows you to loot offerings from enemies and then sacrifice them to deities. If proper offerings are delivered, you will receive a lasting blessing from a deity, enjoying certain advantages as a result.

What kind of class is this? Necromancers are the guardians of the balance between life and death in Diablo. Accordingly, you will wield scythes as your weapons in battle and use dark magic that gives you power over the undead.
The Necromancer requires two different resources for their skills:
Essence is the primary resource and refills slowly over time. Using certain abilities can speed up the process.
Corpses, on the other hand, are generated when you slay enemies. They are needed to execute various skills. More corpses can also be generated with the ability Decompose.
In Diablo 4, you have the choice of whether you prefer to play as a summoner with your undead army or alone, but the special mechanic of the class is completely focused on customizing your minions.
With the Book of the Dead, you can decide how the skeleton warriors, skeleton mages, and the golem fight, whether they prefer to fight defensively or offensively, or even grant them their own specializations. In general, the Necromancer is currently considered the most versatile of the 5 starter classes of Diablo 4.
