A fish? Yes, one of the best weapons in the new Steam hit Windrose seems to actually be a fish. It is the swordfish Smasher. It is a rare melee weapon that is based on strength and deals raw
damage.
At first glance, the swordfish doesn’t seem very special, but the effect is what matters: With each hit, you have a small chance to knock your opponent down. It was found by user xystog on TikTok.
The higher your own strength is, the higher the chance to knock down an opponent. So if you have an (absurd) high strength, you can knock down your opponents with almost every hit.
Fishing, Luck, Hitting Opponents
How do I get the fish? If you want to use the swordfish as a weapon, you need exactly two things: A fishing rod, a place where you can fish, and a little bit of luck – or a lot of time.
Since the swordfish is also a weapon, you can improve it to increase its damage. The crafting variants correspond to all other weapons:
- Level 1 of the Smasher with 100 damage can be obtained by combining it with 5 copper bars and 10 pieces of wood at a weapon workbench.
- For Level 6 of the swordfish and 200 damage, you need 5 mountain iron bars, 12 hardwood, and 3 smithing flux.
- With the Level 11 Smasher, you deal a total of 300 damage. For this, you need 5 swamp metal bars, 8 hardwood, and 3 smithing flux.
