With our FYNG Show, we will venture into completely new dimensions on August 26 starting at 5:00 PM. A first glimpse of what we have in store for you.
We can let you in on a secret: We are currently covered in blue bruises. Because we have to pinch ourselves constantly to ensure we are not dreaming.
When we had the fun idea to create our own little showcase with Find Your Next Game (FYNG) at the beginning of 2024, we could not even imagine in our wildest dreams what this “little showcase” would become just two years later.
A giant stage with over 40 square meters of video screen in gamescom Hall 7. An over two-hour program full of world premieres and real gameplay of some of the most anticipated games. A crocheted police car.
We are completely overwhelmed. By over 100 game submissions from all around the world that want to be a part of our show. But also by our media house Webedia, which has allowed us to have such a big stage, quite literally.

Suddenly, we are in the final preparations for the largest, most elaborate, and most likely the funniest show we have ever put together. Now you might have a rough idea of how we are feeling and how nervous we are.
A concrete idea will only come on August 26 at 5:00 PM when the show starts, because we certainly cannot and do not want to reveal what will happen. But we can at least tease a bit about what you can look forward to.
The key facts: When, where, who
Before we take a little look ahead, let’s first check off what you need to know if you don’t want to miss anything.
When does it start? The pre-show for the FYNG gamescom show starts on August 26 at 5 PM, with the main show following at 5:30 PM. Our program is planned for just over two hours, so it will last until around 7:45 PM.
Where will it be broadcast? We will broadcast live from our stand in the gamescom exhibition hall 7. For our largest show to date, we are also building our largest stage yet with giant video screens.
And of course, we will broadcast the show live on all platforms:

- on the GameStar YouTube channel
- on the GameStar Twitch channel
- on the FYNG Steam page (in English, goes live on August 26 at 10 AM)
Can I watch the show in another way and later? But of course! Look forward to our legendary GameStar live ticker with all important information about the show, top jokes, and compromising photos from Cologne.
We will also make the showcase available as a video afterwards, so you can conveniently catch up on it on GameStar.de or YouTube. And of course, you can also look forward to plenty of exclusive news and previews regarding the show announcements.
What makes the FYNG gamescom Show special?
When we had the idea for our own showcase, it was clear from the beginning that we wanted to do a few things differently.
An editorial show: Of course, we also have paid advertising, we have to finance the whole thing somehow. But that is marked clearly as such. And you cannot buy your way into the actual show program. Only our editorial team decides what makes it into the show and what does not.
We have evaluated over 120 titles for this. We have partially reached out to the developers ourselves, but more than 100 games were pitched to us by the studios themselves, from all around the world.
No teleprompter reading: We broadcast live and without safety nets. Of course, we prepare carefully, but we want to present the games authentically together with our stage guests and not read from a script.
Although the show will be significantly more international, we will continue to broadcast in German. However, this time we will also offer an English-language commentary on our FYNG Steam page.
Focus on gameplay: There will not be a single trailer without gameplay in the FYNG gamescom Show! Because we, as gaming fans, want to see the game just like you and not some rendered teasers that reveal nothing.
And let’s put it this way: If you are thinking during an ONL reveal “Exciting reveal, but a little more gameplay would be cool!”, there is a good chance that you will see that gameplay with us.
A proper dose of nonsense: We take games very seriously, but ourselves only moderately. It’s hard to explain how one can come up with the idea of crocheting FYNG dolls for the show. And since AK and Maurice Weber will be hosting the show as usual, you can be sure that anything can happen.
What games will be featured?
Of course, we don’t want to ruin the surprise for you. But here’s a little hint:
Games we are looking forward to: Since we select the games for our show ourselves, we can put together a program that we would love to watch ourselves.
A lot of variety: A dark soulslike with Unreal Engine 5 might still be cool. But when five of them are shown back-to-back, it can get tiring quickly. With us, you can look forward to a colorful, wild journey – across all genres and from indie to blockbuster.
New details about your favorites: Is there that one game you are looking forward to, but you have not seen anything about the campaign yet? Or that you finally want to understand how a typical mission unfolds? We know that feeling. And that’s why only those who can really show something new will make it into the show.
Real world premieres: Admittedly, the chances of Valve revealing Half-Life 3 with us are still rather slim. But you can still look forward to some exciting games that will celebrate their big reveal with us. Just like recently with Corsair Cove at our FYNG CAGGTUS show in April.
As the show approaches, we will get a bit more concrete with our announcements here. For now, it’s all about wrapping up the preparations.
Over the last few months, we have put a tremendous amount of work, heart, and crochet yarn into planning our FYNG gamescom show. And we are incredibly excited to bring all of this to the stage for you starting on August 26 at 5 PM.
