With all the weapons in Borderlands 3, it can quickly happen that you leave a really good one, like a legendary, behind. The “Lost Loot Machine” can save you. We will show you where it is and how you can upgrade it with SDUs.
This problem is solved by the Lost Loot Machine: Those who are on the go in Borderlands 3 will inevitably encounter a lot of loot. The variety of weapons is extremely high and crazy. For example, there is a Rick and Morty-themed weapon, or one that is oriented towards the Twitch streamer DrDisrespect. However, the number of weapons can sometimes lead to difficult choices.
On one hand, it can happen that you simply overlook a rare weapon in the heat of battle and leave it lying around. The other problem: You would really like a specific weapon – but there is not enough space in your inventory.

Here you can find the Lost Loot Machine
Where do I find the machine? During the story, you can access the base “Sanctuary” – this happens early in the game. There you will find the so-called “Lost Loot Machine”.
This machine takes care of collecting forgotten loot for you. All high-quality weapons that you overlooked or did not collect during a mission end up in this machine at the base. Quite handy – as well as these other tips for Borderlands 3!
On the map, you see where you can find the machine:
SDU from Marcus: How to improve the Lost Loot Machine
This is what you can improve: The Lost Loot Machine has a limit. It can only hold a limited number of weapons. However, you can tackle the problem: At the Sanctuary, you can purchase storage upgrades or SDUs from Marcus.
They are not only available for your inventory slots but also for the Lost Loot Machine. This increases the number of slots in the machine.
You cannot store an infinite number of weapons. So make sure you always have enough free space in the machine and empty it from time to time.

The limits of the Lost Loot Machine
This is what to keep in mind: The machine is not completely unrestricted. On one hand, the machine does not collect all weapons you leave behind, but only high-quality loot.
White and green weapons remain behind, only weapons of higher rarity tiers are available in the machine. You can collect, use, sell, and of course equip them with new skins:
Anything left behind stays lost: The machine only collects weapons that you have not yet had in your hands. This means: All weapons that you previously had in your inventory and then discarded will remain lost. So be careful and later decide at the machine whether you want to have them!
Lastly, it is important to note that the machine only works partially in coop mode. If you play in friendly “Cooperation” mode, the machine works as usual. However, it does not in the classic “Co-op Competition” mode. So think carefully about which coop variant you prefer.
