- Dragon: Meraxes
Rhaenys Targaryen was the youngest sister and wife of Aegon the Conqueror. She was known for her playful nature and loved music, poetry, and dance. However, there was one thing she loved even more: dragon riding.
The dragon of Rhaenys was Meraxes – at that time the second-largest dragon in Westeros. Only Balerion could have matched her. Rhaenys actively supported Aegon in the conquest of Westeros and thus gained quite a bit of combat experience.
Nevertheless, dragons were never just tools of war for her. She had a deep passion for flying and spent hours in the saddle. It is said that her greatest dream was to fly with Meraxes over the sunset sea to see where it ends. However, this never came to be, as she was shot down from the sky in the fight against Dorne.
Rhaenys may not have been the greatest warrior. But when it came to flying, no one could match her.
