A gamer expressed his frustration about a game after over 120 hours of gameplay in a review on Steam. The developer wrote a terrible response.
What was that review about? A gamer advised against buying the simulation game Coin Pusher Casino on Steam in a review on June 28: it was unfinished and the balancing in some levels was horrible. Although the game is not labeled as Early Access, it is said to be missing content.
The player announced that he wanted to report the title to Steam Support, as the developer misleads customers. In an update, the player stated on July 5 that the game had been fixed, but he maintained his negative rating.
Subsequently, the gamer is said to have received a terrible response from the game’s developer.
Thoughtless behavior from the boss also brought this company to its downfall:

Developer writes terrible response, deletes it quickly
What did the developer respond? In a screenshot that the player added to his review on July 6, 2024, a highlighted developer response from Steam can be seen. It states: “Kill Yoursells”, which is apparently a – albeit clumsy – demand to take one’s own life.
As the Steam user explains, although the developer quickly deleted his comment, he was notified about the response and quickly took a screenshot. The player also shared the incident in a thread on Reddit, where he received more than 52,000 upvotes.
Many users express shock at the developer’s response and call for him to be reported to Steam. Others, however, point out that this reaction is not surprising for a casino game.
What are the consequences? Currently, it seems that Steam has not yet taken any action following the incident: both the game and the developer’s profile are still accessible. However, it has also shown that angry users are now punishing the game with negative reviews: Coin Pusher Casino has dropped from a “very positive” overall rating to “mixed” – in the last 30 days, only 53% of reviews have been positive.
The current reviews also contain numerous references to the incident. One user writes: “Fun game. I have some feedback, but I’m afraid the developer wants me dead if I write it in the review.”
But the player also feels the attention that his posts have attracted. There are comments on his profile and under his review from users who take the developer’s side, insulting and mocking him.
Others, however, counter this. One writes: “You, my friend, are a legend, we will defeat this dev!”
With the DLC of Elden Ring, some new Spirit Ashes have also come into play. These NPC helpers can save you some nerves with the bosses. One of them has particularly caught the community’s attention.
What are Spirit Ashes? To refresh your memory: Spirit Ashes are optional aids in the form of NPCs that you can summon in boss fights and sometimes also in the open world.
These include some of the mini-bosses like Bloodhound Knight Dariiwil or the infamous Mimic Ash. The latter imitates your character and has the same equipment and stats. It is particularly powerful, provided your build is strong.
With the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, new Spirit Ashes have come into play. You may have overlooked one of them or picked it up without ever using it. However, the community believes: Give the Ash a chance, it’s worth it.

A small creature with a big cannon
Which Ash is it about? The user KishudarK promotes the “Big-Mouth-Creature-Ash” on Reddit. He reminds other players that this Ash exists and highlights its qualities. It can easily unbalance opponents, attacks from a distance, and can also take some hits.
The special thing about the Big-Mouth-Creature-Ash is that it shoots bombs with a cannon that is its head at the same time. Hit enemies fly back from the explosion and often land on their rear.
At first glance, the small creature with the cannon looks harmless. However, players who have ventured into the catacombs of Elden Ring know it as a standard enemy and understand: This opponent can cause quite a lot of trouble.
Small but mighty is the motto that also applies to the Spirit Ash. Once you have upgraded it, it can support you in tough boss fights and provide some variety to the Mimic Ash.
What do other players think about it? This Spirit Ash is not known to all players – also because it can be found a bit hidden in the Darklight Catacombs in the DLC. However, those who have tried it are pleased:
“I tried it against Malenia and most shots just throw her flat on her back, it’s hilarious,” says LazyNotDumb on Reddit.
“At first I was disappointed, but after the upgrade, it’s pretty great. And who doesn’t love a cannon dude,” writes dardardarner on Reddit.
“It knocks everyone over. This thing is a small tyrant,” also finds Drunk_ol_Carmine on Reddit.
Many players write that they often died against this opponent. Finally using it as a helper in battle feels good.
In one of his latest streams on Twitch, Gronkh is accused of needing to go outside and meet a woman. However, the streamer takes this situation quite casually and responds calmly to the comment.
Who is Gronkh? Erik “Gronkh” Range (46) is undoubtedly one of the defining personalities in the German gaming and streaming scene. Known for his Let’s Play videos and entertaining streams, he regularly attracts numerous viewers.
As a veteran of the German content creator scene, he made his breakthrough with Minecraft Let’s Plays. Over a period of more than three years, 1,278 episodes were released, totaling more than 21,000 game minutes.

On July 7, 2024, Gronkh released a TikTok video where he shows a clip from his stream on June 23, 2024. In this stream, a viewer causes a stir with inappropriate comments.
Such situations are not rare, as streamers often face criticism – whether justified or not is another matter. Throughout his career, Gronkh has had to endure all kinds of accusations and insults. In this particular case, however, he once again demonstrates his composure and calm.
“Get outside, meet a woman.”
What criticism does the streamer receive? While Gronkh is streaming, a viewer appears in the chat who clearly is not a fan of his. “I really don’t understand how adult people invest money in games like Clash of Clans,” writes the viewer.
The viewer does not stop there and continues his attacks: “Get outside, meet a woman.”
Could the viewer have mistaken Gronkh for another streamer? After all, Gronkh is neither known for content related to Clash of Clans, nor should his long-standing public relationship with the streamer xPandorya be unknown.

Gronkh emphasizes that one has nothing to do with the other
What does Gronkh respond to this message? Despite the provocation, Gronkh remains remarkably calm and responds with a mix of humor and tranquility: “That’s coming from the guy who’s sitting here on Twitch at midnight on a Sunday night.”
He goes on to explain that one has nothing to do with the other. Gronkh further states that wives, husbands, and children also play such games, and that has nothing to do with any status regarding how they might appear to the opposite or their own gender. “That’s not an exclusion criterion,” he emphasizes.
The streamer elaborates further on the comment and tells the viewer: “You don’t have to elevate yourself just because you think it might not apply to you.” He admonishes the viewer not to put himself on a pedestal and to avoid looking down on others.
Gronkh concludes the topic by stating: “That is completely unnecessary.”
How does the community react? The community reaction is swift. Many viewers praise Gronkh for his calm and reflective manner in dealing with criticism.
Chantall-Rasine writes: “I simply love how Gronkh deals with such comments: fair, honest, but strict!”
tacticalleehong writes: “Gronkh briefly gave a goodnight kiss and covered up. Good night.”

Majin Boo is one of the strongest villains from Dragon Ball Z. At the same time, with his pink, round appearance, he doesn’t look as dangerous as he actually is. Originally, Boo was supposed to look very different than expected, as early sketches by mangaka Akira Toriyama show.
What can be seen in the sketches? The sketches show the first designs of Majin Boo. Among them are different forms of the villain, some deviating more and others less from his final design. Among the designs are:
A Boo that looks like the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters
A frog with long legs
A fully dressed Boo with two horns on his head
A mean-looking Boo without pupils but with teeth
In addition, there are other versions that show Boo with a slender stature or with an evil look. You can see the different sketches in the image below:

Majin Boo is one of the most iconic villains from Dragon Ball Z
What forms did Majin Boo ultimately receive? Akira Toriyama seems to have had so many ideas for Boo’s forms that he repeatedly changed his appearance in the manga and anime as well. With his antenna on his head, he can turn other beings into chocolate and gains their energy after consuming them. With the energy boost, Boo changes his form multiple times:
Fat Boo is his original form. In this form, he is friendly-looking and is the most liked. He is also the Good Boo.
Evil Boo is the evil side of Fat Boo. He was created when Fat Boo split off his evil side and became Good Boo. He has a grayish skin color and is slimmer than Fat Boo.
Good Boo did not stand a chance against Evil Boo and was absorbed by him. This led to the creation of Super Boo. He is muscular and looks more threatening than all other forms.
There are also more forms like Super Boo, who absorbed Gotenks, and Ultimate Boo, who absorbed Son-Gohan.
Lastly, there’s Kid Boo, the original form of Boo. He is a smaller version of Super Boo and retains his mean look.
With many of the forms, Boo’s nature changes. For instance, Super Boo is solely focused on killing. In contrast, Good Boo is a kind-hearted being. Each form thus has its reason for existence.
It is good that Toriyama did not decide to include all these forms in the manga and anime. With all his sketches, it would likely have been confusing to know which form of Boo is currently fighting.
The names of Babidi and Boo are inspired by a Disney classic. In general, Akira Toriyama had a penchant for naming his characters according to certain patterns. The Saiyans are named after vegetables, and Bulma’s family is named after underwear: One of the strongest opponents in Dragon Ball Z was inspired by a Disney film

The PTR of Season 5 in Diablo 4 has ended and experts are now presenting the classes and builds that are the strongest in the upcoming season. Which classes perform particularly well and which ones lag behind can be found here on MeinMMO.
At the end of June, the PTR (Public Test Realm) ran, where numerous players could test the content of Season 5 in Diablo 4. Two experts took a closer look at the class balance and summarized their assessment of the endgame builds of the upcoming season based on the PTR patch notes for Season 5.
Who are the experts? The experts are wudijo and Rob2628:
Rob provides insight in his YouTube video from July 4, about what players can expect from the classes and builds in Season 5. Here, barbarians and hunters with several strong builds are at the top of his tier list for the endgame, while sorceresses perform rather poorly. Although the damage of many abilities is increased, Blizzard nerfed several skills for sorcerers in the current PTR patch.
The strongest builds in Season 5 of Diablo 4
It is possible that the patch notes will be revised and adjusted before the start of Season 5 in August. This could also change some builds and the class balance. This is the experts’ assessment of the current state.
Bleed Barbarian
With “Bleed”, the barbarian relies on bleeding damage. According to Rob, this build is particularly suitable for fast runs in the endgame activity “The Pit”. Barbarians’ builds will become especially strong in Season 5 according to Rob due to the new “Crown of Lucion” helm. The unique item grants you a damage bonus when you consume your primary resource for a skill.
Rob also sees the Piercing Shot high up on the tier list for endgame in Season 5. The Piercing Shot Hunter is a relatively easy to understand, powerful build. You fire a powerful arrow with your core skill, the “Piercing Shot”, which you can make even more deadly with infusions.
Bone Spirit Necromancer
Due to the buffs in Season 5, this build will become really strong according to both experts – according to wudijo, it could be one of the strongest builds in the game. He says the buffs that the build receives are cool, but other builds fall massively behind here. A massive gap arises between the powerful build and all others of the class.
With the Bone Spirit build, you rely on critical hit chance and deal massive damage when you push them to the maximum. You summon a bone spirit that tracks enemies and clears them off the field with an explosion. Nearby enemies also take damage as a result.
Earthquake Druid
According to the experts, the earth abilities of druids will dominate in Season 5 due to the buffs, especially Earthquake. With this, you crush your enemies between two pillars of earth and deal enormous damage.
Honorable Mention: Lightning Spear Sorceress
And what about sorceresses? Sorceresses do not perform well in Season 5 according to the current state. While other classes receive buffs, they continue to lag behind. However, wudijo points out that the new Lightning Spear build is pretty cool. It is his favorite for the upcoming season, which he recently presented in a single YouTube video. However, there is also room for improvement here.
In the Lightning Spear build, you summon lightning spears that track your enemies and deal damage. You also use Ice Blades that can quickly cut open your opponents and make them vulnerable. With Teleport, you become unstoppable and move quickly back and forth.
Season 5 lasts until the start of the first expansion for Diablo 4, Vessel of Hatred. The DLC will also usher in Season 6. Here you can see the cinematic for the expansion:

Barbarians and Hunters Are at the Top
What is being said about class balancing? wudijo refers primarily to class balance in his YouTube video from July 7. Due to the buffs and nerfs, there are some strong builds, while others require revision in his opinion.
He also sees hunters and barbarians high up in Season 5, both having several strong builds. Following them is the necromancer with a strong build, druids are “somewhere in the middle” and sorceresses have “really nothing to look forward to”, aside from one build that is quite cool. He primarily wishes for many buffs for sorceresses.
Specifically, he says about the class balance:
Hunters: The skill “Rain of Arrows” has a lot of potential but is still too weak. Additionally, hunters often have trouble dealing damage to bosses unless they are “staggered”. The Shredder build was buffed in Season 4, but it needs more options for the “Hardening” – one of two new crafting systems in Diablo 4.
Sorceresses: The damage output for sorceresses is generally poor. Similar to hunters, sorceresses deal most damage against bosses when they are staggered. Overall, almost all sorceress builds suffer from weak single-target damage and are the weakest class. While druids are receiving buffs, sorceresses continue to fall behind. Rob has also previously commented on the state of the class and believes: Sorceresses can be really strong, but for that, a lot needs to change.
Barbarians: The central passive skill “Gaping Wounds” scales “ridiculously” high in the endgame, encompassing the entire class and many aspects and uniques. According to wudijo, the damage bonus here can be up to 5000% and more, while other bonuses from passive skills range between 40 and 100%. The strength of many barbarian builds lies primarily in this. It needs a cap and/or a nerf.
Necromancers: In Season 4, the class was balanced; in Season 5, the class can only expect the Bone Spirit build as a powerful option. Blood builds are poor, and there isn’t much for necromancers to look forward to at all. Additionally, the class has limited options regarding central passive skills, glyphs, and legendary paragon nodes – in contrast to hunters or barbarians.
Druids: According to wudijo, druids will be “quite tanky” in Season 5 and can withstand a lot. Some builds are “decent”, such as the Earthquake build receiving massive buffs. Companion builds are also a good option.
Regarding Season 5, wudijo remains optimistic. All uniques will be revised, a lot will still come into the game, and the seasonal theme is still pending. Furthermore, Season 4 is already strong, and most of its content will remain in Diablo 4. He is “confident that Season 5 will be great.” The new season starts in August, and several new features are already known: Diablo 4 Season 5: Start, Changes, and PTR

The upcoming MMORPG Throne and Liberty has shown what players can expect in terms of content. Included are massive PvP battles, sieges, single-player activities, and group or guild cooperative activities.
What does the announcement present? The new MMORPG Throne and Liberty has outlined the various game modes that players can look forward to in an announcement on their website (via playthroneandliberty.com). The game covers content in PvP, PvE, and the activities that players will experience as individuals.
However, the siege battles seem to be the most interesting, as they can be played in three different ways.

Sieges – loud, stealthy, or cunning
How should the sieges take place? The sieges in Throne and Liberty can be played in three different ways as attackers.
The first way you can carry out the siege is as a thick golem, which you can transform into to try to break down the enemy walls.
Option two is to sneak into the castle. For this, you take a detour through the sewers. But be careful not to get caught.
The third option is to take the castle with tricks. For this, you can either fly over the castle on a giant flying whale and attack from above or use the distraction of another guild’s attack to increase your chances.
The sieges are PvP battles where you compete against other players to gain control of the “Stonewatch Castle”. To be able to ascend the throne, you can forge alliances or betray your allies.
As defenders, you can look forward to massive PvP battles where you must stand against hordes of enemy alliances. In addition to the siege battles, there will be more PvP game modes, likely also in the open world.
This is what siege battles could look like.
What PvE activities will there be? In Throne and Liberty, there will be various PvE activities for different group sizes. As in most MMORPGs, Throne and Liberty will also offer instanced dungeons.
In the game, these dungeons belong to the dimensional circle. As you level up, new dungeons will unlock, which will also help level your weapons.
Throne and Liberty will also feature raids for guilds. Powerful raid bosses will confront you, from whom you will receive increasingly “desirable equipment” (via playthroneandliberty.com)
You will also be able to enter dungeons with your friends or alone in the open world. While strong enemies await you there, the MMORPG also suggests open-world PvP here. As stated on playthroneandliberty.com: “Strong foes await, but the greatest obstacle will probably be the other players.”
Will there also be activities for solo players? Yes, with the anticipated release of the game on September 17, there will also be solo activities. For solo players, there will be “Taedal’s Tower” where you can face bosses alone.
Each time you defeat a boss, you move up a floor, and the bosses become more challenging. For players who take the MMORPG seriously, there will be a mode called “The Gate of Infinity”. Here, those who complete the floors as quickly as possible will be rewarded.
The rewards are not intended to be modest. The developers write: “A few successful runs could make the difference between a brave but meager effort or a great triumph in your next castle siege.”
The summer sale on Steam is in full swing. Now a YouTuber has shown how to scam free games on Steam. And Valve, the company behind Steam, reacted quickly.
What kind of exploit is this? The YouTuber “The Spiffing Brit” explained in his video that one can add games to the cart on Steam with a trick and then not have to pay for them afterward.
All you need is the Chrome browser, a Steam account, and PayPal. The trick is that PayPal does not notice during the payment process when you add additional items to your cart from another browser tab, but the purchase price remains.
The YouTuber demonstrates this by placing a game for £0.71 in his cart and adding another game that he does not have to pay for during checkout via PayPal. The special thing is that the game he adds is not officially listed on Steam at all.
The video has been seen by more than 1.5 million people since July 3, 2024.
Expensive items from Counter-Strike can also be scammed in this way
What is particularly bad about this? You can also add games and products to your cart that have not been listed for a long time. This includes not only games that you are not allowed to purchase or see in Germany, but also items from Counterstrike 2 that have their own shop ID.
How did it end? In a very short edit note under his video, the YouTuber wrote: “Thanks to Gaben, Steam is fixed. I’m unsure about PayPal, but I’ll update this comment as soon as I know more.”
It is not known whether Valve contacted him or if he tried the exploit again. The exploit should definitely be closed now.

Those who struggle through Elden Ring and the DLC have various ways to do so. A YouTuber has shown how he defeats the bosses with just a single hit.
What was the undertaking? The YouTuber Bushy posts content about Elden Ring on his channel. This includes various challenges where he tests strong builds or plays mods that turn all enemies into difficult bosses.
Now he has taken on a special task: to defeat all bosses in the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree with just one single attack – a one-shot.
For this, he sets a rule: The boss must die after a single action in the fight. If there are multiple phases and health bars, there can only be one attack per phase.
Bushy says he wants to show with the challenge that there are different ways to play Elden Ring. Sure, you can study and memorize the attack patterns of the bosses, dodge at the right moment, and then strike. Or you can use an extremely strong build like Bushy’s and make short work of the final bosses.

How does the YouTuber play? Bushy shows in a video that is about 40 minutes long on YouTube how he approaches the challenge. He uses various OP builds that deal massive damage.
Equipped with this, Bushy uses a build that combines the powerful Giantbreaker with the war ash “Courage of the Kingsguard.” Strength and arcane energy are leveled up accordingly, and Bushy also boosts his attacks with the invocation “Golden Oath” and talismans like the Axe Talisman.

Throughout the video, Bushy switches to a different build depending on the boss. Particularly strong is the one that uses perfume bottles with the war ash “Rolling Sparks”. However, the YouTuber points out that these were nerfed with the latest patch 1.12.3. The video was made before that.
How does the community react? Under the video on YouTube, many viewers express their amazement. On one hand, they are impressed by the efficiency with which Bushy defeats the bosses, and on the other hand, by the dedication the YouTuber has invested in the challenge.
According to his own statement, it took him over a hundred hours of research for the video – but the result is impressive. For some beleaguered players, it feels good to see the bosses sent to the afterlife with a one-shot:
“I love the catharsis when I am challenged by the DLC myself and then come to Bushy to see the bosses humiliated by a single hit,” writes kgniku503.
“One-shotting Messmer should have put you on the wanted list,” thinks JoragnGJorgan.
“Seeing Gaius die with one hit was cathartic,” says oberzen208.
Although not all bosses died on the first attempt against the powerful builds, the challenge ultimately succeeded. What do you think about it? Do you want to try the builds yourself? Trailer for New World Aeternum announces console version
Choose an Edition
New World is not Free2Play, so players will need to choose an edition before the launch. The following options are available:
The Standard Edition, which includes the base game New World and all available add-ons.
The Deluxe Edition, which in addition to everything offered by the Standard Edition, also includes the “Corrupted Mauler” bear mount and the armor skin “Corrupted Soul”.
The Standard Edition costs €59.99, while the Deluxe Edition will cost you €79.99. The prices are the same on both consoles.
The Two Editions Compared
Who benefits from the edition? Since the Deluxe Edition contains no gameplay advantages, it is probably aimed at New World players who value aesthetics or know from the PC version that they enjoy the game. If you can do without special skins, the Standard Edition would be the better choice.
Diversity of weapons makes a group stronger
Tips for a Good Start in the Game
If you are new to New World, you should not immediately commit to a weapon. First, take a look at what you like and which weapon you can handle. Leveling up weapons takes time, and if you no longer like your weapon while playing, you will essentially have to start over.
You will only receive your talent points and abilities when you are carrying a weapon of the same type. However, changing weapons is not permanent, and you can try a new weapon later without losing progress on weapons you have already leveled. Your equipment remains up to date and is never reset.
In New World Aeternum, 15 weapons are supposed to be available to you:
One-handed weapons: Hand axe, rapier, mace and shield, sword and shield
Ranged weapons: Thunder rifle, bow and musket
Two-handed weapons: Great sword, spear, great axe, and warhammer
Magical weapons: Void glove, ice glove, fire staff, and life staff
Additionally, you should collect everything you find on your adventures. Items you do not need can either be sold or stored in your warehouse in the cities. Good to know: When crafting, you can access all warehouses in the different cities later.
If you want to level up faster, you can enable optional PvP. While this does put you at risk of being attacked in the open world, you will receive more experience points in return. You can only toggle PvP on and off in settlements.
If you are starting New World with friends, you should also discuss which faction you want to choose. This is the only way you can truly experience the entire game together. The factions also determine whether you can be in a guild together, called a company in the game.
There are the following factions in the game:
The Marauders: The Marauders are somewhat reminiscent of pirates. They value freedom over power, are strong, and focus on causing a lot of damage.
The Covenant: The Covenant resembles crusaders. They are armored fighters battling against evil on the island of Aeternum. The faction plays the role of the purist heroes.
The Syndicate: The Syndicate is where the alchemists and mages of New World gather. Game Director Scot Lane describes them as a sort of “alternative version of Isaac Newton.” They are cunning, intellectual, and in search of forbidden knowledge.
The differences are mostly visual in nature and do not have a significant impact on gameplay.
In New World, you can be in a group with up to five players. To play with your friends, you should choose the same server. A maximum of 3,000 players can be online at the same time on a server in New World. If a server is full, you will automatically be placed on the waiting list.
Our recommendation for server selection is the German and English-speaking server Aaru, which, although not new, is the only one where you will frequently encounter German-speaking players. However, new servers may also be added at the start of the game on consoles. Currently, New World has a total of twelve servers, three of which are located in Europe.
Only recently, the first season of the game XDefiant has started. However, the shooter is still plagued by many issues. Now, the head of the game shares a well-intentioned piece of advice.
What’s the situation with XDefiant? XDefiant started its first season on July 2nd. There was also a major update for the game that responded to fan requests. In addition to a new faction, there are also three new maps during the season, as well as new weapons, cosmetic items, and of course many bug fixes.
For many players, the new season is a reason to check back into the game, but the state of the shooter rarely brings joy. Issues such as bugs (via Reddit.com), cheaters (via Reddit.com), and criticism of the netcode and the new ranked mode (via Dualshockers.com) are found on all popular platforms.
The X.com user @unfoundsoul4 even reached out to the head of the game asking whether the game was rushed out due to GTA 6 and the new Call of Duty Black Ops – and received a response.
Here you can watch the trailer for the new season of XDefiant:

XDefiant shows all the important things from Season 1 in a new trailer
The engine doesn’t make it easy
How did the head of the game respond? Mark Rubin, executive producer of XDefiant, responded quite extensively on X.com to the question of a rushed release. He first clarifies that the game was not rushed out. The many bugs have a different reason, and that is the game engine on which the game runs.
XDefiant was built on the “Snowdrop” engine, and according to the head of the game, it has previously “always just been an MMO.” In fact, Tom Clancy’s The Division and its sequel run on the engine.
However, according to Rubin, the issues with the game engine do not stem from the engine itself, but from the fact that “the entire infrastructure for an FPS [Editor’s note: First Person Shooter] had to be rebuilt from scratch.”
According to Mark Rubin, the competition had, in return, used engines for which shooters had already been developed. He cites Call of Duty with id tech and Apex Legends, which is based on a modified version of the Source engine, as examples.
In contrast, XDefiant is developing everything anew and doing so in an engine that is not designed for it: “That said, the engine is really great, but it requires a lot of work, and with that work come a lot of bugs that other engines have already ironed out.”
What does he advise the players? The head of XDefiant has a clear message for the players of his title. “We are not a shooter that has been around for 20 years. If you like what we are trying to do, stick with it, and you will see how things improve and new features are added. But if the game is not for you, that’s okay; you can move on.”
In the new loot shooter “The First Descendant,” two characters harmonize perfectly together and are like sword and shield in battle.
Which shooter is it about? On July 2nd, a new loot shooter called The First Descendant launched on Steam. The title from Nexon combines third-person shooter gameplay with 14 different playable classes, each possessing their own abilities.
The First Descendant can be played cooperatively with up to 4 players. The game principle is simple: You loot and level up, endlessly farm materials, and send evil aliens to their demise.
Here you can see a trailer for The First Descendant:

Looter-Shooter The First Descendant announces its release date in the trailer
A dynamic typical of MMORPGs
What kind of dynamic is it? The 14 different characters you can play in The First Descendant all have their own play style and a corresponding role within a team. The descendant “Yujin” is, for example, a supporter and can heal team members, while “Freyna,” the mistress of poisons, acts as a damage dealer.
In the early days of the loot shooter, especially the players of two descendants demonstrate what this dynamic can look like in practice: Ajax and Bunny.
Bunny is a damage dealer and deals enormous damage with her electric attacks. She is perfectly suited for eliminating groups of smaller enemies with her fast movement, but she has low health points and lacks defensive stats.
Ajax is a tank, equipped with more health points and higher defense corresponding to his role. Instead of offensive abilities like Bunny, Ajax excels in defensive skills. He can create shields that protect him and his allies from incoming damage. Additionally, he looks like a powerful warrior.
Ajax is one of the three starting classes and is still frequently encountered in the world of The First Descendant even days after the release. He is currently one of the most popular characters. Bunny is not a starting class but can be obtained relatively early in the course of the campaign. She is also very popular at the moment – not least due to a special skin that could earn the developers a lot of money.
How is this dynamic expressed? Bunny is a glass cannon. While she deals a tremendous amount of damage, she is quite fragile under enemy fire. This means Bunny players can fall quickly if they are not paying attention for a moment. They then rely on the help of other descendants.
This role is currently taken mainly by the Ajax players. Several users report on social networks that they like to rush to help Bunny players as Ajax. “Kyeithel” writes on Reddit: “It is my fate to help fallen Bunnies,” and “dtb301” writes on Reddit: “I love protecting my squishy friends.”
Ajax has the necessary defensive stats to survive a revival and can protect himself during it with his dome shield. Bunny, in turn, takes care of eliminating the enemies, especially the adds.
The 2nd season of House of the Dragon is currently underway and, typical of the world of Westeros, the war is not only fought on the battlefield. One of the most fearsome characters is Aemond Targaryen. This is not surprising at all when you know his inspiration.
Aemond Targaryen is primarily recognized by his eye patch and his menacing presence. He is played by Ewan Mitchell in the series. Last year, he could also be seen in the Amazon hit Saltburn.
In an interview with Games Radar, the actor spoke about his inspirations and that he has not watched a single episode of Game of Thrones yet. He did this deliberately so that it wouldn’t influence his role. Instead, he has four other sources of inspiration.
House of the Dragon – English trailer for the prequel series to „Game of Thrones“
This idea of inevitability
In the interview, the actor explains his sources of inspiration for the character. His main focus was to portray a figure that exists beyond the world and for this, he had four sources of inspiration. He mentions David from Prometheus, played by Michael Fassbender, and Kirk Douglas from the 1958 film The Vikings. Here you can also see the inspiration for the eye patch. Additionally, Peter O’Toole in Lawrence of Arabia from 1962 was an important source of inspiration.
His last inspiration might sound quite inappropriate at first, namely Michael Myers from the Halloween series. However, it’s less about the character and more about the presence and idea behind the character, as Mitchell explains in the interview.
The notion that Michael Myers, no matter how slowly he walks, always catches up with Jamie Lee Curtis: this idea of inevitability […] And it’s almost as if the image they convey is larger than life. It’s like another energy, and I thought it was something very fascinating to explore.
Ewan Mitchell and how Michael Myers inspired him (Source: Games Radar)
Michael Myers as a silent horror villain is primarily eerie because of his presence. His almost robotic movements and the thought that he could be anywhere are the aspects that make him scary.
Despite the initially bizarre choice, Michael Myers also fits into his argument for his sources of inspiration. As the name of the series suggests, it’s not just about people, but also about dragons. The role-playing game “The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim” was released in 2011 and is still, for many, the example of a mystical open world filled with much to discover: above all, an underground city of the Dwemer fascinated many. However, open worlds have lost much of their earlier appeal in recent years and are now seen as a pretext to rush players through lifeless areas full of side quests. A developer of Skyrim explains the problem and what separates the world of Skyrim from the world in Starfield.
This is the thesis on open world: The page “Rock, Paper, Shotgun” has published an article discussing the changes in open world games and the increasing criticism thereof. The thesis is:
In the past, the open world was an unknown place full of adventures, stimulating the imagination and filled with mysteries. It was about discovering uncharted lands.
In recent years, the open world has increasingly become a place where players are kept busy with as many uniform quests as possible.
There is nothing left to explore in today’s open worlds
This is what a developer of Skyrim says: The developer Nate Purkeypile has worked on Fallout and The Elder Scrolls Skyrim. The underground city Blackreach in Skyrim is his.
He says about open worlds: The worlds today pretend that players enter as “explorers”, but the open worlds today don’t feel like there is anything to explore:
[There is a lack of] the feeling of not really knowing what is over there, and being surprised – you don’t really feel like you’re exploring the world when you’re not really surprised.
With larger teams, the chance to make your own favorite thing was lost
Why is that? The developer says it’s due to how large developer teams are today. If 1,000 people are working on a game, you would need to implement controls everywhere, require stronger planning, and tighter organization, with a focus on balance everywhere.
With Skyrim, it was still more intimate, and you could express quirks and ideas:
Back then, we were about 100 people, and there was a lot of trust in the team, where you could just take something and make it your own. Just like Blackreach – that wasn’t on any plan. We did it as a skunkworks project on the side, and people saw it and said, oh, that’s really cool – I think we should keep it. And to this day, people tell me it’s one of their favorite projects because they go into that deep, dark dungeon to find something we never talk about. It’s only vaguely hinted at, but it’s a surprise.
How is it today? On a modern game like Starfield, about 500 people worked in 4 studios, Purkeypile explains. There is still individual storytelling and cool places, but it’s much harder at such a size to bring in one’s own ideas.
Isabell “HoneyPuu“ Schneider (24) is one of the most popular female streamers on German Twitch.A fan could hardly believe his luck in having contact with the 24-year-old – unfortunately, the streamer had bad news for him.
What did the fan claim? A viewer of the popular Twitch streamer “HoneyPuu” felt lucky to have private contact with her. Under a video of the 24-year-old on TikTok, he wrote: “I can hardly believe that I have her on Snap. Such a sweetheart.”
The streamer responded personally – and had bad news for the fan.

“Congratulations, you’re probably messaging a 50-year-old Günther”
What was the reality? HoneyPuu clearly states: She does not have Snapchat at all. Whoever the fan was in contact with, it wasn’t the streamer.
However, she has a suspicion about what kind of person could be behind the account: “Congratulations, you’re probably messaging a 50-year-old Günther.”
In the comments, many viewers are amused by the rejection. TikTok user Rakun writes: “Put to bed, covered up, and a goodnight kiss.” NotYourPrincess states: Even Michael Jordan would be envious of the rejection.
The deceived fan, however, takes it with composure. In another comment, he writes: “Well, that’s pretty harsh. But I had hope.”
Additionally, he urges others to report the fake account on Snapchat. After all, he can now be happy to have received an actual response from the real HoneyPuu.
Especially female content creators are often cautious about private contact with fans. Someone quickly gets false hopes or even shows up in front of the beloved’s house. One Twitch streamer has a special solution to the problem: She uses artificial intelligence to “fulfill the needs of fans”

The seriesScrubs remains legendary to this day, with many scenes etched in the minds of viewers. The janitor is responsible for many of them. Interestingly, many scenes were improvised, as explained in an interview.
Who is the janitor? The janitor is somewhat of a nemesis to the main character J.D. He is played by Neil Flynn, who later also appeared in the comedy series The Middle. Originally, the janitor was not planned for a larger role, but he convinced the creators.
This was mainly due to his comedic timing and his talent for improvisation. Scrubs allowed its actors a lot of freedom when it came to their own ideas, and Neill Flynn was one of the best.
For a spot, Zach Braff and Donald Faison returned, along with Aquaman:

Zach Braff praises Neil Flynn
In an interview with Michael Rosenbaum on his show Inside of You, Zach Braff, the actor who played J.D., is asked if the actors in Scrubs often improvised. Braff explains that they often could improvise and that Bill Lawrence, the creator of the series, did a great job creating a pleasant working atmosphere.
He gave the actors a lot of freedom. Rosenbaum then asks Braff which actor made him laugh the most, and Braff had an immediate answer: Neil Flynn.
Anyone from Scrubs would probably give the same answer: Neil Flynn, who played the janitor. He is a funny improvisational comedian and a genius, a hilarious person.
Braff explains how there were sometimes parts of the script that simply said: Neil makes something up. Flynn himself also spoke about this in an interview with Daily Actor. He himself says that it only happened twice, but he also mentions that he was able to improvise a lot, especially in scenes with Braff.
Which scene does Zach Braff particularly remember? In the interview, Braff is also asked by Rosenbaum which scene he found the funniest, and he had one immediately in mind. In the mentioned scene, the janitor tries to convince J.D. to wear the short shorts that his wife made. To convince him, he tells him that his wife only has one pointer finger on one hand and only the little finger and the thumb on the other.
Braff describes how this was one of the scenes that were improvised, and he just couldn’t get over it. With Dawntrail, it is possible in Final Fantasy XIV to collect an outfit that makes players look like a cute mascot. Thanks to the new option to dye the clothing even more individually, the outfit can be customized according to one’s wishes. But beware of certain color combinations if you don’t want to scare anyone.
What kind of costume is this? The outfit consists of two different pieces of clothing, the Mica head and the Mica suit. With the Dawntrail update, it is now possible to dye the armor parts with up to two colors.
MeinMMO author Fabienne Kissel dared to dye, only to find that there is a truly terrible color combination for the costume. If you decide to create a black-red suit, we have to warn you. Because from the cute chipmunk, it turns into a gruesome nightmare:
MeinMMO author Fabienne Kissel in her self-dyed Mica outfit.
Especially with its wide-open eyes, the chipmunk looks like it could jump at our throats at any moment. If you want to scare other players or just prepare for Halloween, this could be a possible candidate for your next killer outfit.
You can watch the new expansion Dawntrail in the following trailer:

Here’s how you can become the nightmare chipmunk in FF14
How do I obtain the outfit? You can obtain the outfit by collecting Mica items in the FATE “Murderous Mascot.” The FATE is located in the area Living Memory, which you can find on the continent of the new Dawntrail expansion.
However, to trigger this FATE, you need to complete two other FATES beforehand:
Mascot March (Coordinates: X: 35, Y:34)
Mascot Chaos (Coordinates: X: 35, Y: 34)
To reach the FATES, you need to have unlocked the flying function for the area. Once you have completed the FATES, “Mica, the Magical Moo” will appear at a random time as another FATE. The coordinates for him are X: 37.2, Y: 33.3.
The boss is so strong that you cannot take him on alone. Therefore, gather a team or wait until enough players gather to defeat him.
If you defeat Mica, you will receive the item “Mica Magicog.” Depending on your contribution to the victory, you can receive two to six of these items per FATE. If you collect enough of them, you can exchange them for the outfit at Uah’shepya in Solution Nine (X:8.7, Y: 13.5). You need four “Mica Magicog” for the Mica head and six of these items for the suit.
The MMORPG Ashes of Creation presented its “Server Meshing” technology in a stream on July 3rd. This is the technological innovation in the MMO genre that enables a massive, simulated world with thousands of simultaneous players and is one of the big promises of Star Citizen. The technology is supposed to launch with Alpha 2.0 in the third quarter of 2024.
What is the technical breakthrough? The holy grail in MMOs and MMORPGs is “Server Meshing.” Developers have been working on this for about 12 years, and hundreds of millions of US dollars have been invested in the development.
The goal is to allow many simultaneous players to be in a shared world and interact with each other without lag and performance making the MMO unplayable.
The current solutions for servers in the MMO genre look like this:
The SF-MMORPG EVE Online offers a large shared world for everyone, but only manages this by severely slowing down time.
Other MMORPGs like New World rely on the classic solution and use relatively small servers: when the MMORPG is successful, new servers are added, and when player numbers decrease, they are closed again.
MMORPGs like WoW solve the problem through “Mega-Servers” and “Layers” – several people are in the game world, but can only see each other or interact to a limited extent.
Ultimately, the goal is to create gigantic simulated worlds through “Server Meshing”: multiple servers work together to simulate a large world. The problem is that all servers must run synchronously so that all players are in the same world and not in different layers of a world.
The holy grail in the MMORPG genre has been pursued for years
This is why it is so important: “Server Meshing” is the holy grail in the MMORPG genre:
The eccentric millionaire Steven Sharif is said to have achieved this breakthrough with his team in the MMORPG Ashes of Creation. The underlying technology was presented in a livestream on July 3rd (via youtube).
Start video
Ashes of Creation presents the mage archetype in 30 minutes
In the background, a lot of technology is needed so that the player notices nothing
What kind of technology is this? The “Realm,” the shared game world, is represented by multiple servers simultaneously, with each server responsible for a specific designated part of the game world. For this to happen, the servers need to pass on and receive information from players – and communicate simultaneously with the other servers.
When the player moves in the game world, their data is transferred from their “old” server to the responsible new server without the player noticing.
It becomes complicated when 2 players interact with each other on different servers because a lot of information needs to be exchanged between the servers in a short amount of time: Ashes of Creation does not pass on the complete data of the player in this case, but uses a proxy, a “reduced copy” of the player to minimize the amount of data exchange.
In addition, “microservers” are supposed to help optimize communication between the individual servers. They function similarly to specialized apps and are designed to pass on specific information, such as the player’s location.
This is just a brief overview of the underlying technology – the topic goes much deeper. For those interested, we recommend the 80-minute livestream from the developers (via YouTube)
Streamer Asmongold wavers between enthusiasm and skepticism
This is the discussion: The streamer Asmongold talked about the topic and titled the excerpt “Ashes of Creation has just changed MMOs forever” and published it as a video on YouTube.
Asmongold says in the video: servers are always a problem and a technical limitation. The many servers destroyed the MMORPG New World and restricted fun in WoW.
He is very much looking forward to an MMORPG like Ashes of Creation attempting to bring all players together on one big server.
However, the US streamer is still skeptical whether the team can technically achieve what they are promising here. He keeps saying: he will only believe it when he sees it.

When can we see if this works? Alpha 2 of Ashes of Creation is supposed to start within the next 2 months. Alpha 2 is announced for the third quarter of 2024, so the latest date would be September 30.
A controversially discussed MMORPG could herald the next gen
What’s behind it: Ashes of Creation is the spiritual successor of Everquest Next – the online role-playing game that was supposed to revolutionize the MMORPG genre around 2017 and herald a new generation of online role-playing games 15 years after WoW. However, development was halted in 2016. The Blizzard MMORPG Titan also died.
So the next generation of MMORPGs after WoW was canceled.
Ashes of Creation has long been viewed with skepticism due to some strange methods used to gain money and attention. The head of the MMORPG, Steven Sharif, is undoubtedly a big MMORPG fan, but also a controversial figure, who likes to criticize the press and provoke.
Asmongold’s skepticism is justified: “I will only believe it when I see it and can play it” is certainly a healthy attitude.
It is said that it should soon be possible to buy back into an Alpha 2. However, one should be cautious if an exorbitantly high price is called again. In 2018, they wanted $500 for access to the Alpha.
Tarisland is here and interested players are flocking to the EU servers to check out the new MMORPG. But why does it suddenly come to a halt in the middle of the leveling phase? What is the maximum level? MyMMO will tell you!
Update: We updated this article on July 8, 2024. We modified the section about the max level.
What is the max level in Tarisland? The maximum level in Tarisland is level 40. Further level increases are planned for the future. These could be introduced with the seasons, which come every three months or so.
Why could I only level up to level 20 on launch day? At the start of the launch season “Secret of the Void,” there is a tiering of the leveling phase through a maximum server level. Here are the level caps for the first days:
Day 1: up to level 20
Day 2: up to level 26
Day 3: up to level 30
Day 4: up to level 34
Day 5: up to level 38
Day 6: up to level 40
The launch trailer for Tarisland:

Tarisland: Trailer for the global launch shows cinematic class action
How long does leveling take? Those who are familiar with the procedure and skip dialogues can get a character to level 20 through quests and story progress in less than an hour. Accordingly, there were some players on launch day who already reached the maximum server level with four or five classes.
The leveling effort is likely to be similar in the coming days. Once the path to level 40 is opened, it should be easy to bring a character to the maximum level in a day.
What else do I need to know about Tarisland? Tarisland is a theme park MMORPG that places a strong focus on dungeons and raids and has been released with a Free2Play model for PC and mobile. There is no console version or controller support.
A story campaign guides you through the leveling phase. You will also find side quests and events in the game world. There is crafting, solo challenges, and instanced PvP content.
Although players in action RPGs sometimes like to exploit bugs to their advantage, a new glitch in Diablo 4 has alarmed fans directly. What has happened to a couple here by chance was intentionally done 20 years ago, resulting in the destruction of the entire economy.
What is this glitch?
“Duping” refers to the duplication of items. An item is thus copied exactly as it currently is.
What initially sounds like a cool thing for anyone wanting the best items can quickly turn into a massive problem.
This is what duping caused back then: Essentially, duping destroys the entire economy of a game. You don’t just want to quickly get some new materials, the goal is usually to get the best items possible.
One of the most well-known and worst cases of duping occurred in Diablo 2. There, the famous ring Stone of Jordan (engl. “Stone of Jordan”, or short: “SoJ”) eventually became a commodity because gold was no longer valuable.
Due to a glitch, the item could be multiplied. When this exploit became known, there were ultimately so many “SoJs” that the entire economy collapsed. Honest players could no longer afford anything in trades, while exploiters were surrounded by completely overpowered gear.
Blizzard eventually introduced “Uber Diablo” as a boss that could only be summoned when enough Stones of Jordan were sold. However, that couldn’t save the trade back then.
A duping glitch would be fatal, even if players are already swimming in strong loot thanks to Season 4:

“This needs more visibility”
On Reddit, a couple has accidentally duplicated several items. Without really knowing how it happened, they raised the alarm and warned about the glitch.
Even though some users cynically comment that “real money traders love this trick” or that it can’t be replicated without a wife, others warn: This post needs many more upvotes to become visible. The bug must be reported to Blizzard immediately and fixed.
The number of veterans from earlier times who still remember the SoJ fiasco is apparently considerable, as users perceive the same danger in the current case. While the economy of Diablo 4 may not be great, it is first-class compared to that of Diablo 2 back then. In the past, glitches, hacks, and exploits were so widespread that there was hardly a multiplayer round without them.
A class with a subclass is so strong in Baldur’s Gate 3 that you want nothing else – because it is more powerful than all the others.
The choice of the right class in Baldur’s Gate 3 is actually not that important for a successful playthrough. Because every class has advantages and disadvantages, and with pretty much any combination, you can successfully master the great RPG. But there is one class that is so efficient that many players never return once they have tasted it.
We are talking about the Monk with the “Way of the Open Hand” subclass.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming to PS5 – Trailer prepares for console release
What is being said about it? In the Reddit post by Toogeloo, the player shares his experiences with the “Open Hand” Monk. After trying it out, other classes just feel weak. He is so enthusiastic that he even retrains his companions and makes them Monks.
I am currently trying to play with Shadowheart as a Shadow Monk and Gale as an Elemental Monk in a new playthrough, after I completed my first Honor run with an “Open Hand” Monk Karlach. Even when I play them both as Tavern Brawlers, the “Open Hand” variant just feels so much better. These flurry attacks that knock enemies down, the ability to gain a bonus action (while simultaneously generating Ki), and the extra damage from the manifestations make it feel like the other subclasses just can’t keep up.
This is apparently not just a lone opinion, as the post has garnered over 1,800 upvotes within a few hours. The “Open Hand” Monk is highly regarded by many.
What makes the Monk so strong? Although Monks usually totally forgo armor and are therefore theoretically very vulnerable to enemy attacks, several Monks working together can ensure that enemies almost never get a turn.
For Monks with the “Open Hand” subclass have many abilities to make multiple attacks per turn and can even enhance their attacks, allowing them to knock down or stun enemies – which keeps even some bosses in a “stunlock”. Even supposedly intimidating bosses like Raphael can then be defeated within a few rounds and virtually without resistance.
Later in the game, these Monks can make 4-5 unarmed attacks per round. While unarmed attacks usually do not deal much damage, this can be combined with passive effects like “Manifestation of the Body,” causing every attack to deal an additional 1d4 (+Wisdom modifier) damage.
In the endgame, the “Helldusk Gloves” add another 1d6 necrotic damage to each attack.
When combined with feats like “Tavern Brawler,” where each unarmed attack also receives double the Strength modifier, you can reach absurd amounts of damage that no enemy in the game can withstand for long. Especially not when multiple Monks are involved.
In the end, you get a Monk who can output triple-digit damage numbers in a single turn and, in the case of critical hits, can dispatch even large enemies like Raphael in no time.
This is how the community discusses it: Basically, there is no two opinions about the “Open Hand” Monk. It is popular – and pretty strong. This is generally acknowledged by everyone.
“Open-Hand Monk with Tavern Brawler and unarmed attacks is definitely completely OP. I played this in my last playthrough. I could literally run across the whole map and made 4-5 attacks per round. Health was not an issue because I buffed my Monk before the fight to make her stronger. No armor, just cloth.” – Remarkable-Ask-3868
“Open-Hand Monk is so strong, it makes nearly all other classes look weak. During an Honor Mode run, I literally swapped out a character for Halsin just before the end of Act 2. I retrained Halsin as an Open-Hand Monk with Tavern Brawler without armor or equipment, and he basically soloed Ketheric and Myrkul. The damage, the hit chance, the double attack as a bonus action with knockdown. What can keep up with that?” – CadmeusCain
“Yeah, it’s broken and OP with Tavern Brawler. No one will say otherwise. Of course, the other subclasses then don’t feel that good.” – Ixnch50
