MeinMMO provides an overview of all online games that will be released in 2024 and are relevant to us. This includes co-op games, competitive multiplayer games, MMOs, and MMORPGs. It doesn’t matter whether these games are released for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, or Switch.
What games can be found on the list? The list only includes MMOs and multiplayer games that will actually be released in 2024 in a final or at least in an early access version. We have also included major expansions that are particularly relevant for MMORPGs.

Numerous expansions for different online games
In addition to the releases, several expansions and lots of new content for numerous established online games will be coming your way in 2024. And especially for MMORPG fans, it was an exciting and particularly strong quantitative year. Just take a look at this list of released expansions:
- May 20: Cataclysm for WoW Classic
- June 3: Gold Road for The Elder Scrolls Online
- July 2: Dawntrail for Final Fantasy XIV
- August 20: Janthir Wilds for Guild Wars 2
- August 26: The War Within for World of Warcraft
- September 12: Land of the Morning Light: Seoul for Black Desert
- October 15: Aeternum for New World
- November 6: Morgoth’s Legacy for The Lord of the Rings Online
In addition, there were important updates, such as recently for SWTOR, the release of New Legacy for Ultima Online, the monthly patches for Lost Ark, which introduced solo raids, the first European server for Albion Online and much more.
Also outside the classic MMORPGs, a lot happened. On June 3rd, Destiny 2 received “The Final Shape,” the last DLC of the Light and Darkness saga, which was released on all platforms. The DLC was supposed to be the toughest challenge a player can face in Destiny 2.
Additionally, there was also the expansion Vessel of Hatred for Diablo 4, which was released on October 8, including a new region and a new class that is nature-based, fitting for the new jungle setting.
