You want to trade with your friends in Diablo 4 and give them a great Legendary, but it’s not working? MeinMMO explains how trading works and what you can trade.

How can I trade with others?
- Stand next to a player so that the context menu appears.
- Press “E” (PC) or “D-pad up” (PS, Xbox). Select “invite to trade”. If the other player confirms, you can trade.
- You do not need to be in a group and can also trade cross-platform. Diablo 4 supports full crossplay.
Which items can I trade? Since Diablo 4 does not really explain trading, we will list here what you can give to other players:
- common (white), magical (blue) and rare (yellow) items
- you can even trade legendary and unique items now – with exceptions (see below)
- gems
- gold
- potions
What can I not trade? For a while, it was possible to exchange legendary aspects. However, that was a bug and has now been fixed. The list of items you cannot trade is correspondingly longer:
- Items that have already been enchanted by the Occultist
- Items that you have changed through hardening and completion
- Uber-Uniques
- Quest items
- Whispering Oboluses
- Keys for Nightmare Dungeons
- Premium currency and items from the shop or the Battle Pass

Trading on websites – Is it worth it?
Since Season 4, trading has become bigger in the game, as you can now sell Legendaries to other players. However, most of the trading still takes place on external sites.
The most popular trading platforms are the website diablo.trade as well as various trading Discords. According to the community, while the platforms have a good reputation, you never have complete security here as they are still third-party services.
So only trade here if you are aware of the risk that there can definitely be scammers around, and proceed with caution. Although large amounts of gold are in circulation here, they have not always been earned honestly.
