The 29-year-old Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa is one of the most successful streamers on Twitch. In an interview, she shares her pragmatic view on the streaming platform. It is an “advertising space that pays her when she puts ads on it.” She uses the platform as a “funnel” to lure customers who see her on Twitch to her OnlyFans page.
Where do the statements come from? Amouranth has given an interview with Jake Lucky, who mainly uses Twitter as a platform.
This is what Amouranth says about how much money she makes:
Amouranth earns about $100,000 a month from subs and ads on Twitch
With her OnlyFans page, she makes about $1.5 million a month
In addition, she has income from other businesses, such as gas stations, in the range of $85,000 – these are especially important for her from a tax perspective

Twitch as a “funnel” to guide fans to OnlyFans
This is how she sees Twitch: The streamer is then asked in the conversation why she still streams on Twitch when she makes so much more money on OnlyFans. Is she on Twitch out of pure “joy”?
But joy has little to do with it, Amouranth explains. While she does enjoy streaming “somehow,” the reasons lie elsewhere:
Twitch is a billboard – that pays me to put ads on it. It is a funnel. Other social media sometimes just distribute shadow bans for sexy content. Your reach is really destroyed on every other platform – except on Twitch.
Twitch is also the platform with the highest “conversion rate” – the platform that can drive the highest percentage of users to OnlyFans.
After Hottub and ASMR meta, Amouranth now plays the “funnel meta”
What is behind it? Amouranth has a clear business model:
She appears sexually provocative but still relatively tame on platforms like Twitter, Instagram, or Twitch – this content is free
Those who see this and want “more explicit” pictures of her, she lures to the OnlyFans platform, where her content costs money
Twitch is the most attractive advertising platform for her: on the one hand, she is paid for her content there, and on the other hand, there is no filter that limits her reach.
After Amouranth had her breakthrough with the “Hot-Tub” meta and then used the ASMR meta to grow, she apparently has now fully played through Twitch with the “funnel” meta.

The business model that Amouranth uses by abusing Twitch as “advertising space for another platform” has apparently never been anticipated by Twitch. It is unclear whether Twitch will do something about it or let it go.
As openly as Amouranth talks about her strategy, she seems to have no fear of consequences.
For formally, Amouranth apparently does not violate any rules as long as she does her “18+” things on another platform and only uses Twitch as a funnel to lure viewers there.
However, with this “funnel” meta, some other streamers and also viewers have large problems.
As early as 2021, the German streamer MontanaBlack demanded that Twitch must intervene:
The GOG.com site is giving away only a few hours of the German simulation games Biing 1 and 2 (PC). Our author Schuhmann says: These are great German simulations with deep mechanics and challenging gameplay, but one has to deal with the many breasts and the humor that the developer throws at you. Both games are NSFW (not safe for work), rated “From 16” by the USK – so nothing to be played in public.
How to get the games? The site GOG.com is giving away Biing 1. The offer lasts until Monday, February 20, at 3 PM German time.
Being given away is “Biing!: Sex, Intrigue and Scandals”
When you download the game, it also includes as an “Extra” “Biing! 2: Sun, Beach and Hot Nights [DE]”.
Time is running out.
Biing!: Satirical Hospital Simulation from Hanover
What kind of game is Biing!? It is an erotic and satirical hospital simulation from 1995.
The game has a crude humor: all doctors are incompetent quacks who only want to play golf, all nurses are lewd, and warehouse staff are generally drunk.
The player clicks through various static screens, hires staff, sends people to training courses, and hires goons who lie in wait for unsuspecting passersby at the clinic entrance with a baseball bat to ensure the emergency room is well attended.
As the game progresses, the player opens hospital rooms, an intensive care unit, operating rooms, and a pathology department, just in case something goes wrong. Especially serious and lucrative cases can be brought in by the player through fast ambulance races.
From today’s perspective, Biing is a kind of text adventure: it is little graphically represented, the actual action of the game takes place in texts, when you have to choose how the doctor treats a patient. The raucous action in the ambulance races also only happens in the text; you don’t really see anything.
German Simulation Gems from the 90s with … Unique Humor
And is it a good game? Yes, it is indeed. Biing! received ratings in the vicinity of 85-90% back then.
Behind the silly and surely outdated facade lies a challenging and hard simulation. It is necessary to:
Train employees to the extent that they can work independently
Manage finances so that rented buildings and plots can be purchased to reduce fixed costs
Deal with spontaneous employee absences by rearranging shift plans and employing substitutes.
Those who think they can just click through Biing and have fun will experience a rude awakening. The game is difficult. It is mainly about surviving the tough initial weeks. It is actually only possible to get through the first days with a beginner’s guide (via biing-fansite.de).

Studio Shot at Biing 2 Against German Game Press Due to Bad Reviews
And what about Biing 2? Biing 2 is from 1999: Here the player runs a holiday resort. This is also a very deep simulation, with an even stronger focus on eroticism.
How did the series end? Biing 2 had many technical problems at launch and received negative reviews between 27 and 65%. The company felt unjustly rated so poorly at the time and urged fans of the game to complain to the publishers of the German PC magazines.
It was said that the magazines had tested the game too briefly. Biing 2 was supposed to become fun only after a few days (via archive.org).
The company feared that the negative reviews could threaten the existence of the studio, and indeed Reline Software disappeared in 2002.
Biing – A Piece of German Gaming History
Is the game still relevant today? More than 20 years after the end of Reline Software, there is still a small German community that regularly talks about Biing and longs for the old days.
Here, Biing is considered an underrated masterpiece, and in many comments, one can sense the nostalgia for one’s youth.
Even today, legends circulate in the community about the failure of Biing 2. On fan sites, it is often told (via forumromanum), that PC Games journalist Petra Fröhlich (then still Petra Maueröder) killed the series. She is said to be somehow responsible for there being no Biing 3.
Others say: That’s not how it was. All magazines rated Biing 2 poorly at the time. It simply wasn’t a good game at release. Only later updates made Biing 2 playable and good.
What about the people behind the game? The game comes from the studio “Reline Software” from Hanover. The leading minds behind the game were Holger Gehrmann and Olaf Patzhauer:
Gehrmann died in 2008 at the age of only 39 due to a fall from a high-rise building.
Olaf Patzhauer died in 2011 of heart problems. Patzhauer continued to post in a fan forum about Biing until his death. There was always talk of an improved anime version of Biing 2 that he sent by email to the biggest fans of the game.
From a similar time as Biing, but with a completely different approach, comes the simulation Dwarf Fortress:
MeinMMO reader alf told us in a comment about his gaming friendship in the MMORPG Lineage 2, which remains beyond death.
As part of our “Find Your Next Game: Love Edition” week, we received a comment from our reader alf under an article, who told a touching story about a gaming friendship. We don’t want to withhold this story from you.
“In my clan, there were 3 friends who also knew each other in real life”
alf tells us: I started with Lineage 2 in 2003 on a so-called “free server”. The server was called Noobwars, a Greek L2 server. There were 2 factions: Greeks and Bulgarians, a few Germans and a few Spaniards. All together maybe around 500 players.
Each side formed their own clans, and the people spread out. We ended up in a Greek clan. We could speak a little English, just enough to have conversations and piece together what the other was saying.
In my clan, there were 3 friends who also knew each other in real life. Their names were Steris, Kologeros, and Papoukas, 3 dwarves. One was a crafter, the other two were spoilers. We always made jokes about these characters because the dwarves in L2 really looked like dwarves. Short, chubby, with a huge long beard and a big red nose.
We started spending time with them and got to know these 3 Greeks better and better. After several months, we found out that Kologros and Steris were brothers, and Papoukas was a neighbor boy of the two.
After a few more weeks, we discovered that Steris was sick. He had leukemia. We weren’t sure what to do or how to behave. But we agreed that we wanted to visit him in his hospital in Greece.
“We were there for about 4 hours, then we had to leave”
So we went to Darmstadt on Friday. My sister was living in Grube Messel at the time. Then Saturday morning to the airport in Frankfurt and off to Greece. When we landed in Athens, we called Kologeros, who came to pick us up and brought us to our hotel.
From there, we went to Steris’s hospital. It was strange because it was absolutely not like in Germany. The smell was different. You know the hospital smell? That discomfort in your nose from all the sterile stuff? That was not there.
Steris was not alone in the room. He was in a “shared room” with 6 other people. I only knew it from Germany that there were always 2 or sometimes 3 in a room, but 6? That was strange.
In the middle stood a large table with chairs, there was a couch, a huge TV, a “kitchen,” if you can call it that, where they had a microwave, coffee machine, and so on. We were there for about 4 hours, then we had to leave. But we had a lot of fun there with Steris, Kolo, and Papou. Steris’s parents were also there, and we were glad that his mother could speak German. Without her, we would have been helplessly lost.
More great stories from the gaming community can be found here on MeinMMO:
“So far, this is my best experience in gaming that I have had”
We continued to play on Noobwars and in the same guild as Kolo, Steris, and Papou. After the summer, we noticed that Steris logged in less and less. And one day not at all. His brother, Kologeros, didn’t log in either, and Papou only at night.
We asked what was wrong, but we knew what was happening. Steris died at the age of 23 from leukemia on August 16, 2004. We flew to Greece again for the funeral. Since then, we meet Kolo and Papou every 2 or 3 years in Germany.
Kologeros now lives here, and Papoukas studied at the university in Darmstadt at that time. Both bought the server on which Steris’s characters are located. They continued to run it privately for us 5. And every year on Steris’s death anniversary, we log in, sit in Giran with his characters and chat, telling each other what has happened, what we are doing and have done.
Of course, now via TeamSpeak and we don’t drink “beer” in-game anymore, but real beer. But even today we keep in touch, call each other now and then, meet, and log into the server that is in Kologeros’s basement.
Even today, almost 20 years later, we are friends, our families know each other, visit each other. 5 friends, who actually used to be 6. We are still 6.
So far, this is my best experience I have had in gaming.
We thank alf sincerely for allowing us to publish his beautiful story on our website. If you have experienced something special in-game or know someone who has, send us a message at [email protected].

At the end of Season 27 in Diablo 3 we look at the leaderboards to see which class performs best and who is at the bottom. We rank all 7 classes.
What is going on with Diablo 3? Today, on February 19, the current Season 27 ends. Season 27 started at the end of August and has been active since – the chapter has therefore been playable for a relatively long time. Seasons usually last about three months, but tend to go longer. Due to the extended time, players have been able to grind even more Paragon levels and thus become even stronger.
We take a look at the leaderboards and show who is currently leading the field by a wide margin.
Season 27 Ranking of All Classes
How did we check? We read the season times from the official Diablo 3 website. We only look at the seasonal Greater Rifts in Softcore and for single players on the European servers. The times come from the “Overall” category, so not with specific sets.
It is quite possible that the ranks will change in the coming days if Blizzard kicks out bots or cheaters. The following status is from February 19 at 11:40 AM.
What builds are being played? In the list, we have linked the hero profile for each of you, with which the record was set. It is not guaranteed whether the builds with which the times were set are still in place. By looking at the hero profile, you get an insight into which abilities and items the characters are currently equipped with.
What stands out? Monks are by far the “winners” of Season 27. With their speedruns, they leave other fast classes like Wizards behind by several minutes. Crusaders remain, as already seen from the previous season, far behind in solo play.
However, in the upcoming Patch 2.7.5, there will be some balance changes that will likely have a significant impact on the leaderboards. Especially the buff for Demon Hunters is being discussed in the community.
During the IGN Fan Fest, the Production Director of Redfall, Ben Horne, shared more details about the new loot shooter. In the interview, the focus was on the co-op experience, the loot, and especially on how you can actually take down the enemies.
At its core, Redfall is a co-op loot shooter. Initially, the game was often compared to Left4Dead, but it is actually meant to be more like Far Cry, the developers say. You explore an open world, defeat enemies, and collect better weapons.
Redfall will be released on May 2 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.

New co-op shooter with looting & leveling shows its dark side in the trailer – The vampire hunt in Redfall
This is what the chief says now: In the interview with IGN, Production Director Ben Horne talks about how exactly the core gameplay of Redfall works, that is: shooting. Redfall will feature a lot of weapons, like any decent loot shooter.
However, these weapons are said to be only somewhat useful. Horne says: ‘In Redfall, vampires cannot be killed just by bullets. You need something special.’ This includes weapons like flare guns, stake throwers, and UV lights.
However, firearms are not useless, as seen in the provided gameplay. They can still kill smaller enemies and at least make vampires vulnerable.
Horne explains that the system is designed for every player in the world to search for exactly the weapon that suits their playstyle and that they want. You can choose to play ‘All Guns Blazing’ or more cautiously and stealthily. Weapons have various rarity grades with special effects and properties.
The extended gameplay of the game is embedded here for you:

Another interesting point in the interview is Redfall’s co-op mode. You can play alone – without AI support – or in a team of up to 4 hunters, but you are not “bound” to each other, as is often the case in such games.
Instead, you can split up freely in the open world. While one player is fighting vampires, the others can search houses and solve puzzles. However, if you decide to stay together, you will receive a strength buff.
Redfall is one of the most promising shooters we expect in 2023. Here you will find an overview of the new releases in the genre:
In Pokémon GO the Hoenn Tour is currently running for trainers who are on site in Las Vegas. A special research with Jirachi has been unlocked. Even the first section of the special research gives a hint of how tough the work on it will be.
What kind of research is this? One of the major highlights of the Hoenn Tour 2023 is the encounter with Shiny Jirachi. However, it seems that this will be a very lengthy research, considering the current Hoenn Tour event from Las Vegas. Players on site have the first opportunity to catch Shiny Jirachi. For us, that will be happening next week.
The research from Las Vegas has fewer steps compared to the Global research before encountering Shiny Jirachi. However, the base should be similar. Players have now shared the first 3 tasks. This gives us a rough outlook on what we can expect at the global event of the Hoenn Tour.
Masterwork Research: Wish Fulfilled 1/6
Task
Reward
Catch 385 Pokémon that were first discovered in the Kanto region
385 XP
Catch 385 Pokémon that were first discovered in the Johto region
385 XP
Catch 385 Pokémon that were first discovered in the Hoenn region
385 XP
Earn the golden Hoenn medal
30 Ultra Balls
Stage Reward: Those who complete all 4 tasks and claim the respective rewards will additionally receive 10 Kyogre Candy, 10 Groudon Candy, and 10 Rayquaza Candy.
Further steps are not yet known, as trainers must first work on catching as many Pokémon from the different regions. There will be a total of 6 steps with multiple tasks in this research for trainers playing on site in Las Vegas.
How are the trainers reacting? On reddit, the topic is being heavily commented. User leemifsud writes “These research tasks that take months are among my favorite parts of the game.” Other trainers agree and explain that they enjoy working on these big tasks.
Thus user Redshift-713 demands: “We need these difficult tasks back. The special researches starting from level 40 were great.”
Others are curious about the rest of the research: “If this is just 1/6, then I’m afraid to find out what the other tasks look like,” writes cccaaatttssssss.
What do you think about the research? Do you think it’s good that Niantic brings such tasks that require longer effort, or do you prefer to quickly complete a special research?
Hauke Gerdes became known as a game master for tabletop role-playing sessions at Rocket Beans and as the creator of his own fantasy worlds. Now he brings one of these worlds as a survival MMO to Steam for gamers: Coreborn.
What kind of game is this? “Coreborn: Nations of the Ultracore” takes place in the fantastic world of Tormentosia, where various peoples are in a continuous conflict. However, Sogoth, an alien villain, ensures that they must unite.
To protect themselves, the peoples have created a “Core” that shields the inner world. Everything around it, however, is still dangerous, as Sogoth’s minions lurk there. You play as a resident of Tormentosia and are tasked with making the world habitable again.
This works in a seemingly Valheim-like survival game with classic gameplay elements from survival games and MMOs, such as:
the city of Coreheim as a player hub to make new friends
building your own home or even village in the world with an appropriate building system
a combat system where the 6 different peoples bring different advantages
enemies that threaten you and from whom you can get strong loot
a profession system in which you can continuously improve your profession
hunger, poison, and cold as survival aspects
Additionally, Coreborn will run on Unreal Engine 5, but it offers a playful comic graphic with some quirky characters.
You can see the first gameplay trailer for the game here:

Coreborn: Nations of the Ultracore – The Gameplay Trailer
When and where can I play Coreborn? Coreborn is set to be released according to the official Discord for PC, consoles, and mobile with crossplay.
However, when exactly Coreborn will be released, we do not yet know. It is said: “We are aiming for 2023/2024.”
There is no information yet on the pricing model, but according to the Steam page, there will be “in-game purchases.” The first test is already set for March 2-5 on Steam. You can already register directly on the Steam page for the test.
What is Ultracore anyway? Behind the game is the world of “Ultracore”, which Hauke Gerdes designed. Hauke previously worked as a community manager for the German gaming channel Rocket Beans TV and was instrumental in establishing the tabletop format “Tough Types, Sharp Pencils” there.
In doing so, he created the worlds T.E.A.R.S., B.E.A.R.D.S., and Ultracore.
The creation of the world of Ultracore took place in a multi-part series of broadcasts in a tabletop session at Rocket Beans, in which Hauke serves as the game master.
Ultracore is based on the open-source rules system “How to be a Hero”. The idea of the world is that different peoples cooperate to create and maintain the eponymous “Ultracore”.
There is also a story trailer for Coreborn that explains the world in more detail:

Pokémon GO is hosting the Hoenn Tour in Las Vegas this weekend. However, the first day of the event has received a lot of criticism, as players faced issues.
What’s happening in Las Vegas? Yesterday, on February 18, 2023, the first day of the Hoenn Tour took place at “Sunset Park” in Las Vegas. For this event, a ticket had to be purchased and one had to be present on-site to utilize the bonuses.
The event is sold out, and today, on February 19, the second day will begin.
However, the first day apparently did not go as players had hoped: The event started on Saturday at 10:00 AM local time, which is 7:00 PM German time. Already then, the first complaints arose.
Trainers frustrated about Day 1 in Las Vegas – Niantic responds
This is what trainers report: In the subreddits for Pokémon GO and on Twitter, trainers shared their experiences from the event. The main problem: There were apparently severe log-in issues and lags.

Throughout the event period, trainers reported severe connection issues – which caused frustration among players. Especially those who had traveled to Las Vegas specifically to participate in the event, booked hotels, and similar arrangements (via reddit).
How does Niantic respond to the issues?
Through the official Pokémon GO account on Twitter, developer Niantic addressed the situation. The Pokémon GO team apologized for the problems and tried to explain how they happened. It seems that some trainers without tickets showed up, which was not expected:
“An additional 17,000 trainers without tickets came to the park, causing connection issues throughout the day,” the statement read: “This led to trainers experiencing interruptions in connection to raids, being unable to log in, and other gameplay issues.”

“We ask trainers without a ticket for Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas not to come to the park tomorrow, to ensure a smooth event for Sunday ticket holders and trainers who have the Sunday extra day add-on.”
Additionally, the Pokémon GO team stated in a blog post (via pokemongolive.com) that the Saturday event would be extended by three more hours and expanded to the rest of the city. It will then run until 10:00 PM local time and bonuses will also be unlocked across the rest of Las Vegas. Furthermore, trainers should receive three free raid passes and three free remote raid passes.
In the initial reactions (via Twitter), trainers have also expressed critical views on these adjustments, stating that this is not sufficient as compensation. Some suggest, for example, a replacement event as compensation.
At least in the past, there have been examples where such replacement events were held. However, so far nothing has been announced in this regard.
It remains to be seen how the second event day in Las Vegas will unfold. This will again start at 10:00 AM local time, which is 7:00 PM German time.
Wild Hearts could have been a massive hit for developer Koei Tecmo and publisher EA. The game offers top-notch gameplay, innovative systems, and an interesting story. Nevertheless, it is absolutely not making an impact. What’s the reason? MyMMO editor Benedict Grothaus takes a closer look at the matter.
When Wild Hearts was announced and we played the first test, it quickly became clear in the editorial office: The game has hit potential but needs to put in more effort. Wild Hearts was supposed to be an alternative to Monster Hunter – with co-op and crossplay.
Exactly what fans of Monster Hunter wanted after MH: World and what Capcom has neglected for years. Wild Hearts had every opportunity to develop magnificently and capture a huge, abandoned fanbase.
Since February 16, 2023, the new action game is out, but it generates hardly any resonance among gamers – barely any interest on Google, virtually non-existent on Twitch, and scant demand for guides and community stories.
Even internationally, it receives praise. A user on reddit has compiled the ratings from the biggest sites worldwide. Many reviewers rate it over 80%. The Metacritic ratings fluctuate between 77 and 80, depending on the platform.
Wild Hearts could have become a new IP, a new brand that succeeds under EA – a success that would have certainly benefited the reputation after the slump of Anthem. So, what’s going wrong?
In the video, we explain Wild Hearts in 3 minutes:
Start video
Wild Hearts: Everything about the new hunting game in 3 minutes
1. Wild Hearts is way too expensive
The biggest flaw, which both we have identified and is discussed in the community, is the price. Wild Hearts costs a hefty €80 for PS5 and Xbox, while on PC it is “only” €70. A substantial amount in itself is not necessarily a problem, but several factors come together here:
Wild Hearts is a new IP, no one really knows what to expect from it
The studio, Koei Tecmo, is relatively unknown in the West
For the same amount – or significantly less – there are currently other games that have already proven themselves
Wild Hearts does offer a demo to test the game, but even that is hidden behind a paywall. Only those who use EA Play can view the game for 10 hours in advance. Players are correspondingly skeptical and accuse EA of greed.
Many voices are already saying: We are interested in Wild Hearts, it looks great. But not for the price, we will buy it later on sale.
2. Wild Hearts came too late – or far too early
With the release in February 2023, Wild Hearts has strategically positioned itself poorly. Just one week prior, Hogwarts Legacy was released, the game that is currently captivating the entire gaming landscape.
Although the new Harry Potter game is not a direct competitor to Wild Hearts and targets completely different audiences, there is still a significant overlap of gamers who would now rather spend time in Hogwarts than in Azuma.
Additionally, at the end of January, Monster Hunter Rise was released for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Console players who have an interest in the genre may still be occupied with the original and have no time for Wild Hearts.
Wild Hearts would have had better chances to make a name for itself during a gaming drought like in spring 2022 or shortly after the release of Elden Ring 2022. That EA actually knows such things is evident from their sudden release of Apex Legends.
3. The PC port falls far short of expectations
Even the price and timing could have been excused if the performance had been adequate. However, Wild Hearts launched with significant issues on various systems – above all on PC.
Almost every review criticizes the poor performance: really stable high FPS are not achieved, and there are graphics and sound bugs. None of this completely disrupts the gameplay but is annoying.
Another pain point: Many of the problems were already known from previous tests and communicated to the developers. Nevertheless, the game was released in this state and has shaken the trust of many fans. The team is working on a solution, which will only be released after launch.
In our co-op session, the game runs smoothly, but you can hear that the picture and sound are out of sync – unpleasant:

Co-op gameplay in Wild Hearts
4. No one knew about Wild Hearts before the release
Wild Hearts is not only a completely new IP, but also was hardly advertised prior to its release. There were no major campaigns to draw attention to the game or to win people over for the idea.
No significant marketing actions were launched, no hype trailers, and no influencers were booked to talk about Wild Hearts. The almost only advertising consisted of scattered trailers that were only moderately distributed.
5. No one talks about Wild Hearts
Finally, all these points could still somehow be countered if the right people had spoken about Wild Hearts. Keyword social media and Twitch.
A few influential personalities on Twitch, TikTok, or Twitter could have been enough to set the proverbial stone rolling. But Wild Hearts does not exist on social media.
None of the big streamers like xQc or Asmongold have noticed Wild Hearts or showcased it. On Twitch, only smaller channels show the new game, although with enthusiasm.
On Twitter, there are hardly any trends related to the game, and even the official tweets have relatively few replies. The subreddit for Wild Hearts has only 5,700 users. That is not enough to make conversations about the topic go viral.
By comparison: Monster Hunter World has nearly 500,000 fans on reddit, Hogwarts Legacy already has 188,000 and is only slightly older than Wild Hearts.
It’s strange that so little advertising was done, as the trailers were all really good:

Even if the release of Wild Hearts absolutely did not work, it does not mean the game should be written off immediately. There are plenty of examples of games that had a botched release and were still saved or gained viral traction months or years after release.
The substance of Wild Hearts is impeccable. A co-op hunting game with an interesting new mechanic, a beautiful environment, and lovable characters. The perfect mixture for any fan of the genre.
It’s just lacking in execution. However, if the developers stay committed and polish Wild Hearts to the state it should have had at launch, the game can indeed succeed. Especially if it reaches more players through a discount.
Wild Hearts will be supplied with free updates after the release, bringing new weapons, monsters, and more. Those who join later will also receive a “more complete” game. This could also lead to a delayed success for Wild Hearts – as there is hope among players:
Blizzard has finally announced the start date for the Open Beta of Diablo 4 at an event. The start is just a few weeks away. MeinMMO provides you with all the details.
When does the Beta start? During the IGN Fan Fest on February 18, Blizzard announced two dates for the Open Beta of Diablo 4:
Friday, March 17 – Sunday, March 19: Pre-order Beta
Friday, March 24 – Sunday, March 26: Open Beta for all
You will not be able to play continuously during the open test until the release on June 6, but only on two weekends for now. We do not know yet if another open test will follow afterwards.
How do I participate? If you have pre-ordered one of the editions of Diablo 4 digitally, you will automatically receive access to the pre-order Beta on March 17. If you received a code, you must redeem it on the official website and select your preferred platform. You will then receive an email with a code for your platform.
You will likely be able to download the Beta a while before the actual test via the Battle.net client or the store of your respective console. More information on this will follow shortly.
<strong>Diablo 4 takes the best features from the predecessors – Here is what it looks like so far</strong>
Open Beta: Start and Contents
For the Beta, you can play the prologue and the entire first act of Diablo 4, but only up to level 25. After that, you can play as long as you want – you just won’t level up anymore. You can find info about the story of Diablo 4 here.
Blizzard has not commented further on the classes, so we assume that you can play and try out each of the 5 classes of Diablo 4, namely:
Barbarian
Druid
Sorceress
Necromancer
Amazon
Each of these classes has a special class mechanic that is expected to be available for testing, provided it is available up to level 25. If you need help making a decision, our quiz will tell you which class suits you:
Blizzard points out that this is a test and you may encounter bugs and unfinished content. So do not expect a finished product and report any bugs you find. The feedback will be used to improve the game.
The progress of your characters will be carried over between the Beta weekends. However, there will be a wipe afterwards, so everyone has to start anew for the release on June 6. On February 28, there will also be a developer stream with new information about the game.

Fortnite was a pure PvE game at launch with the “Save the World” mode and then brought its free Battle Royale – the rest is video game history. The hype was insane. The important BR mode was put together in just a few weeks.
Ed Zobrist was the Head of Publishing for Fortnite in 2017. He was fully involved in the decisions of the time and had to think of ways to get the colorful new game to the people.
At the “Game Developer Conference 2018”, Zobrist gave a presentation about Fortnite titled “An Unconventional Release”. It spoke about the marketing methods of the competing studios at that time and how Fortnite wanted to find other ways.
It was also about Fortnite’s big Battle Royale. Because that’s exactly what most players of the colorful shooter know and love. Zobrist explains that something quite different was originally planned for Fortnite’s PvP mode and how they scrapped all plans within 2 weeks.
The biggest streaming star of Fortnite for a long time was Ninja. Start the video to learn more about his rise and fall:

10 Weeks for One of the Biggest Hypes in Gaming
Zobrist talks in his presentation mainly about the release of “Save the World”. That was the original PvE mode of Fortnite, from which the Battle Royale emerged.
This mode was to be expanded with a PvP mode – a game within a game. The responsibility for this was taken over by Epic Games’ Unreal team.
This team developed the Battle Royale (BR) in just 10 weeks from the release of “Save the World” on July 21, 2017. On September 26, the BR went online and hit like a bomb.
It wasn’t even intended as a Free2Play version. It was only 2 weeks before the BR release that they decided to bring the Battle Royale as a “Standalone”, which ran through the Fortnite launcher but was completely free – unlike “Save the World”.
Zobrist believes that Epic Games’ marketing team worked completely through those two weeks – no weekends, little break.
What came out of it is one of the biggest hypes in gaming history. As early as November 2017, Fortnite’s Battle Royale reached 20 million players. Reports today speak of over 400 million registered players (via businessofapps.com).

According to Zobrist, the Battle Royale also led to making the game much more fun and not taking itself too seriously anymore. The mode turned Fortnite completely inside out – but today we know that the right decisions were made.
In the Steam game “Dinkum”, you build a new life on an island. The game is already very popular among players in Early Access.
Dinkum is a life and building simulator that places you in an area reminiscent of Australia. On an island, you start a new beginning, get to know the residents, and build your own home as well as an entire town.
The game is currently still in Early Access and is expected to maintain this status for at least another year.
Dinkum is created by a single developer named James Bendon. He has already worked on the game for 3 years before it was released in Early Access. On Steam, he writes: Although the game is already very playable, the developer wants to add some elements until it feels “complete.”
The game is playable on the Steam Deck, but requires some extra effort in terms of interaction or configuration.

Dinkum – Release Trailer
What does the gameplay look like? Once you arrive on the island of Dinkum, you build a shelter that you gradually expand into a substantial farm. You can grow crops, keep livestock such as chickens, sheep, or cows, or even adopt a giant wombat as a pet.
In the process, you expand the place from a single tent to an entire town. Complete quests for visitors to the island so that they will stay. The happier the people are, the more your town will grow. With new people, more shops will also be added where you can buy specific goods such as tools or clothing.
Explore your surroundings and gather resources: go fishing or catch insects to expand the museum collection, procure food, or earn some pocket money.
But also be aware of the dangers of nature. Predators like crocodiles can attack you. However, you are not defenseless. You can attack animals with a spear or trap them with your traps.

You can play the farming game both solo and in online co-op with other players. Invite your friends to your island and create a place according to your wishes together.
How do players rate Dinkum? On Steam, a total of 12,609 ratings are extremely positive for the farming simulator. A full 95% are good reviews (as of February 18, 2023, via Steam).
Many players find Dinkum to be a mix of various other titles where you also build your own home. Especially, Animal Crossing is often mentioned as a comparison:
DittolsPink: “Take the harmless joy of Animal Crossing and add the horrors of Australia. I was pecked unconscious by a type of wild bird while trying to fish“.
“It’s already a great game, and the creator is still adding more. It resembles games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, but with an Australian flair. There’s even a museum you can unlock to donate fish, bugs, and other animals. So it’s perfect for people who love collecting […]“.
Ravlex: “Mix Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, and Harvest Moon, and you get Dinkum. A definite recommendation, 5/5 stars. I miss the Steam achievements a little“.
How much does Dinkum? On Steam, you can currently get the Early Access title for €16.79 (as of February 18, 2023)
The streamer Adam “Loop” Bahriz is legally blind due to a disability. However, this does not stop him from playing his favorite shooter GS:GO, and he does it better than most others.
Who is that? The streamer Loop has been playing and streaming CS:GO on his channel for several years, even though he is at a disadvantage compared to other players.
Loop was born with a very rare hereditary disease called hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy, or HSAN (via Ruhr University Bochum), which prevents proper formation of the receptors of nerve cells, among other things.
As a result, Loop cannot feel pain and is legally blind. Despite his disability, he is a big fan of the shooter Counter Strike: Global Offensive, which he plays at a high level and has participated in several championships in the past.
Legal blindness: Visual impairment is very complex and affects each individual differently. In Germany, the following classifications apply: – Based on a norm for visual acuity of 1.0 (100%), someone is considered visually impaired if they achieve at most 0.30, but more than 0.05 on the better eye, despite corrective glasses or contact lenses. – If the visual acuity on the better eye is between 0.05 and 0.02, it is referred to as a severe visual impairment. – With a visual acuity of less than 0.02 allowing for practically only light/dark perception, or if the field of vision is less than 5 degrees, one is considered blind under the law (via. Federal Association of Ophthalmologists)
“My cousins played it in school”
This is what Loop says: In a conversation with e-sports YouTuber Jake Lucky, he explained why he loves and plays the fast shooter so much. He got to know CS:GO through his cousins, who played it in school.
He did not expect to be able to play such a game, but was positively surprised:
[…] There is something about [CS:GO] that makes it very easy to get into the game. Let me give you an example: When I tried to play Call of Duty as a kid, there was always a lot of action, corners, camping spots. The user interface is very complex. […] In Counter Strike […] the environment is very simple. It’s very easy to notice people, especially compared to other games. It’s a very beginner-friendly game, in my opinion.

Apart from increasing the game sound to the maximum level to hear his surroundings, the streamer does not use any other aids while playing. He does not have special equipment like specific mice or keyboards for people with disabilities.
To compensate for his visual impairment, Loop developed, according to his own statements, very fast reflexes. He also sits very close to the screen to see what exactly is happening there (via YouTube).
More stories about CS:GO on MeinMMO can be found here:
Loop plays CS:GO over ESEA (E-Sports Entertainment Association League), an online platform for semi-professional and professional players. There he even managed to reach the high rank A+ for a while, although he is now back at A. A+ is the third highest rank in the league after S and G.
The near future holds even more CS:GO for Loop. He shared on his Twitter that he ordered a new expensive PC, from which he expects more FPS and better performance.
Another legally blind player told us about her adventures in the MMORPG FFXIV:
The game “Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate” offers you a special version of chess on Steam. Instead of an army, you fight the opposing side with a shotgun.
“Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate” is a roguelike-strategy game in chess style, where you have to plan your moves carefully to defeat your opponents.
The chess game has a very special twist: You play as the black king, a rather unpopular ruler among the people. Therefore, your entire army has since abandoned you and defected to the white king.
You have nothing left but a single item: your royal shotgun. Deeply hurt by the actions of your subjects, you embark on a quest for revenge to pay back the white pieces.
The game is verified for the Steam Deck and works very well there.
Here is a trailer for Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate:

Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate – Steam Release Trailer
Defeat the white army and their king
What does the gameplay look like in the game? The gameplay is based on turn-based moves. In each round you can:
move the king
fire with the shotgun
To reload the weapon after a shot, you need to move. At the same time, you have to be careful that the white pieces do not checkmate you.
To successfully complete a level, you must eliminate the white king. If you succeed, you can, as is often the case with roguelikes, choose a random combination of two upgrades.

The trick, however, is that one upgrade is for you and the other for the opposing side. Additional pieces can be added to the board or certain special conditions in the game can apply, for example:
Only the opposing king may come close to your game piece
Additional ammunition and range for your shotgun
Fewer opposing units on the board
If you are successful in shotgun chess, you might manage to decide all levels in your favor and regain your kingdom.
The individual rounds take about 20 minutes. In the game, you can choose from 15 different difficulty levels and unlock new maps. Additionally, there are also an endless mode and a hunting mode available.
How do players rate Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate? The game has very positive reviews on Steam. Of the total 3,014 ratings, 93% are good game reviews (via Steam, as of February 18, 2023).
Players praise Shotgun King: as an entertaining casual game for a quick play:
InfamousBirb: “Funny game for in between, it’s fun and does what it should. As an avid chess player, I find this variant very entertaining“.
Catatöskr: “I’m terrible at chess, but at least it’s fun with a shotgun.“
Suki: “Wonderful roguelike game, I can recommend it to everyone. It kills time and doesn’t require a good PC to play“.
What is the cost of Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate? On Steam, you can get the chess game for €9.99. If you want to get the soundtrack directly as well, there is a bundle for €10.42 (as of February 18, 2023).

For Lightfall, Destiny 2 has announced that it will be much easier to unlock the new subclass Strand. Soon, an option will also be available to access a paid character and campaign boost, which players are currently divided about.
Which boost option is it about? In the latest “This Week at Bungie” blog on February 16, Destiny 2 announced that there will be an extended “Character Boost” option for Lightfall.
This paid option allows players who play multiple characters to not only push their power level anymore. Soon, they will also be able to skip the campaign and unlock the subclass “Strand”.
These boosts are essentially nothing significantly new for Destiny players. However, it is new that one can now purchase campaign and subclass unlocks in this way and thus shortcut them.
This is what the level boost offer looked like in the DLC “The Witch Queen”
Destiny 2 will offer these two character boosts in Lightfall:
Lightfall Character Boost:
Appears when players reach the soft cap with a character but have not yet completed the Lightfall campaign.
This boost only provides the selected character with a high power level gear set and does not skip the campaign.
Lightfall Character and Campaign Boostincluding Strand unlock
Appears when players have completed the Lightfall campaign with a character. Those who buy it bypass the Lightfall campaign for the selected character and also unlock Strand for them.
It only includes a high power level gear set if the player’s main character has reached the soft cap.
What the boost does not unlock: It is important to know that the Lightfall campaign boost does unlock Strand, but does not contain the hefty rewards (items, upgrade materials, etc.) that one would normally earn by playing through the campaign.
And those who skip the campaign have neither completed the Legendary version nor the post-campaign missions. Guardians who want to earn the associated triumphs must still play through the missions.
Those who have multiple characters in Destiny 2 must normally play through the campaign multiple times.
A part of this new “smoother way” seems to also allow players to unlock the subclass “Strand” for their second and third characters for a fee.
What the community says about the extended Lightfall boost
Is this good or bad? The Destiny 2 community is undecided on how to feel about it. In Bungie’s official forum, some players, like Zoidberg, did not want to hear any of it.
Paying to win? You get gear for money? No, no, no, no, no. Stop it! […] If you charge money for quality of life changes, you’re on your way to charging for better RNG, loot boxes, subscriptions, and other predatory things. [Bungie] gave us free gear to catch up in the last season. They already gifted us a free campaign skip. It’s bad to charge money for things that are not cosmetic.
Through the Eververse, Destiny 2 already generates additional revenue from real money
This “non-pay-to-win” opinion is opposed by many players, like Natan Rios on Twitter, who want to play with two or three characters to be flexible but do not want to play through the Lightfall campaign two or three times. They simply don’t have time for full-time games like Destiny 2. Thus, this supposedly “lazy” shortcut is, in their opinion, just right.
Many also remember the dreadfully long and complex unlocking of “Stasis” for all three characters. For some Guardians, that was still okay for the first character, but after that, many lost their desire for the repetitive grind with the then “Beyond Light” subclass Stasis.
Therefore, there will probably be some players who will make use of this new boost offer for Destiny 2: Lightfall.
However, the Twitter account Destiny-Bulletin mainly criticizes Bungie for placing this “excellent feature” behind a paywall and charging players for it.
The ability to skip the story campaign with alternative characters is an excellent feature. Charging money for it is not.
Boosts have never been free in Destiny: Since Destiny 1, players could push their Guardian to the soft cap for a “small” fee. And even recently in the “The Witch Queen” DLC, a character boost was possible. However, the boost has always been seen as frowned upon and as the “laziest way to play Destiny 2.”
What will the boost cost in Lightfall? Bungie has so far kept quiet about the exact costs for the boost. However, they might basically be oriented around the costs from the “The Witch Queen” DLC.
In the “The Witch Queen” DLC, the character boost cost 2,000 Silver, which equals about 20 Euros. This price had to be paid by players for all Guardian characters they wanted to push to the soft cap.
What do you think of the announced campaign and character boost including subclass? Is that not a problem for you? Or do you think the monetization of Destiny 2 is getting out of hand? Feel free to leave us a comment with your opinion on this.
By the way, Destiny 2 is rapidly heading towards the end of the Light and Darkness saga, and our Destiny author is therefore not sure if she really wants to experience this supposed end:

Dauntless
What is Dauntless? In Dauntless, you take on the role of a Slayer and embark on a monster hunt in a world made up of floating islands. These monsters are known as Behemoths, and they threaten to consume the world with their hunger. Once you have slain a Behemoth, you can forge new weapons and gear from its parts. The game offers cooperative multiplayer action that allows you to face the Behemoths alone or in teams.
Dauntless may game-play-wise lean towards Monster Hunter, but it remains significantly more beginner-friendly in terms of depth and monster variety. However, this does not make Dauntless any less fun and it enjoys an active and large community.

What is Fortnite? Fortnite is the most popular battle royale shooter in recent years. Originally, the game was intended as a paid PvE survival game, but the free battle royale mode enjoyed explosive popularity. 100 players fight against each other alone or in small teams of up to four players in an ever-shrinking area, everyone against everyone. Whoever survives last wins the round. A special aspect of Fortnite is collecting materials in the form of wood, stone, and metal. These can be used to build various structures, adding a deeper, tactical layer to the shooter.
Now there are several different main modes in Fortnite, such as a no-build mode, party sandboxes, or even custom versions of Among Us. You can also create your own game modes and invite other players. Additionally, regular new events and updates keep the game fresh.

The developers of Riot Games have decided to redesign the in-game shop of League of Legends. After numerous champion reworks in recent years, the prices are no longer up to date, especially for new players. But what exactly are the developers changing?
450 BE / 260 RP – Here are placed champions that Riot believes would provide a good entry into the game. This includes champions like Miss Fortune, Yuumi, and Malphite.
1350 BE / 585 RP – Champions that are a bit more complex, yet still exciting and interesting for new players, are placed here. A bit of skill is required for them. Examples for this tier include Yasuo, Lucian, and Sett.
3150 BE / 790 RP – This includes champions with a steeper learning curve, where success with the champion can only be seen after some practice. Examples are Le Blanc, Shaco, and Yorick.
4444 BE / 880 RP – For this tier, “only perfection and beauty” are planned. Which champion this will correspond to has not been officially disclosed.
4800 BE / 880 RP – This price category is where most champions are parked. For some specific champions, however, the price in Riot Points (RP) remains the same. This includes champions like Kayle, Ryze, Twisted Fate, and Singed, all at 260 RP.
6300 BE / 975 RP – Here are the champions released in the last two seasons. Once the seasons are over, the characters will be placed in a different price category at the start of the next season.
7800 BE / 975 RP – Champions only stay in this tier for one week after their release.
If you are interested in the characters from Arcane, we have summarized them for you here:

LoL: We introduce the champions from Arcane in gameplay
What other adjustments are there? In addition to price adjustments, new champion packs are to be created. The developers want to orient themselves to both the champion tier and the game mechanics and roles.
This will allow new players to quickly build their collection. All in all, champions without discounts cost 140,606 Blue Essences or 14,905 Riot Points. How you get Blue Essences, we will show you here.
If you want to get the champions even cheaper than in the in-game shop, you can take advantage of the reward system for leveling up.
The changes are set to come with Patch 13.5. A good tip is to acquire the currently cheap champions before they slide into a more expensive tier and you will have to pay more blue essences. Additionally, you can wait a bit with purchases of expensive champions, as characters like Yasuo and Yuumi will be significantly cheaper in the future.
What does the community think about it? The changes mainly target players who are relatively new to the game. This causes some frustration among long-time players who already own all champions and have an abundance of Blue Essences. Long-time players also wish that Yuumi becomes untouchable and cannot be played by anyone by raising the price to 800,000 BE:

The online store Humble Bundle is launching a fundraising campaign for the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. When purchasing games, part of the money will go to the relief organization Direct Relief.
On February 6, severe earthquakes measuring 7.8 and 7.5, along with aftershocks, destroyed large parts of the Turkish-Syrian border region. The number of victims has now exceeded 44,000 people, and rescue teams continue to search for survivors among the rubble.
In such a dire situation, every cent helps, which is why the online store Humble Bundle announces that it will donate part of its revenue from game sales to Direct Relief, a humanitarian organization that provides assistance worldwide.
You can already buy these bundles: For those who want to buy new games while doing something good, there are already some options available in the store. As usual, you can pay whatever you think is fair, with the lowest prices of the bundles ranging from about €4 to €11.
Currently, you have the following 4 gaming bundles to choose from:
Fishing Season: The bundle offers 24 games worth a total of €255.06, all centered around fishing, with varying degrees of realism and competition.
Steamy Sakura Special: The Sakura franchise includes a lot of visual novels for adults, 19 of which valued at about €177.88 are found in the bundle.
Love is in the Air: This bundle targets fans of dating sims with its variety of story- and character-focused games. It contains a total of 8 games worth about €105.41.
Black History Month: In this bundle, you’ll find a total of 8 games worth about €126.12 that focus on black characters, including classics like Mafia III and Shadow Man Remastered.
How you can directly help the earthquake victims in Syria and Turkey can be found at the German Red Cross. All the information and donation options can be found on the official page.
You can find more stories from the gaming community here:
These plans are still underway: Besides that, Humble Bundle is currently working on a larger bundle, of which all proceeds will go to the victims of the earthquakes. The store is collaborating with several major developers and publishers to put together a cool collection of games.

So keep your eyes peeled. In the past, such bundles have included loads of top-notch games like Dead Space, The Witness, or Bastion to encourage gaming fans to donate.
Since its founding in 2010, Humble Bundle has repeatedly called for such fundraising campaigns. Together with their community, they have already raised over $200,000,000 in donations, which have gone to organizations like Make A Wish or Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
In another fundraising campaign for Syria and Turkey, there were sabotage attempts:
