On Pokémon GO, the GO Tour: Hoenn will start on February 18 in Las Vegas. What happens at this event? We gather the most important information.
When does the Hoenn Tour in Las Vegas take place? The local version of the Hoenn Tour runs this weekend, on February 18 and 19. It starts at 10:00 AM local time, which corresponds to 7:00 PM German time.
Who can participate? Only players who have purchased a ticket for the event can participate in the Hoenn Tour in Las Vegas. Ticket purchases are no longer possible, the live event is sold out.
The alternative is the global Hoenn Tour, which takes place on February 25 and 26. Here, all players can participate; you can find information about the global Hoenn Tour here.
What distinguishes the Hoenn Tour in Las Vegas from the global one?
Basically, the Hoenn Tour in Las Vegas is a paid event taking place locally in “Sunset Park”. Various habitats will be created there, where different Pokémon will spawn.
You will meet other players on-site; there will be photo points, team lounges, and more. Additionally, there are some differences in the game itself compared to the global Hoenn Tour. We list them here.
This is different in the Hoenn Tour in Las Vegas:
- There is a large paid event ticket that does not appear globally.
- In the park, there will be a “scavenger hunt” with codes that allow encounters with legendary Pokémon.
- There will be a special research task where you work with Team GO Rocket. This is missing from the global event.
- There will be an increased shiny chance. Shinies are also expected to be boosted globally, but only selected Pokémon species.
- The masterpiece research with Shiny Jirachi is included in the Las Vegas ticket and requires fewer research steps to reach the encounter. The research is not included globally, and you have to buy it in the shop.
- There are up to six special trades in the park.
- Trading costs half the stardust in the park.
- Halved hatch distance.
- A limited research task with Pandir will be available.
- Nine bonus raid passes for spinning gyms or stops.
- Higher chance of costume Pokémon and Incognito through smoke.
- Additionally, there are purchasable bonuses through “add-ons” like “Raid Love” or “Swarm Egg”. These also cost another 15 dollars.
What is the same?
- You choose a side – Ruby or Sapphire.
- There is a special research task with Rhi called “Legend Hunt”.
- Proto-Groudon and Proto-Kyogre appear at both events.
- Latias and Latios will appear.
- There is the possibility to encounter Shiny Kecleon – it makes its debut in Las Vegas, but will also be available in the global version.
- The creatures from the Hoenn region spawn at both events.
- There will also be special Pokémon in eggs, raids, and research tasks.
- There will be field research tasks with mega energy and ghost Pokémon.
After the local Hoenn Tour in Las Vegas, but before the global version, the event “Proto-Rumbling” will also start. It brings you Rayquaza and other bonuses. You can find out everything about “Proto-Rumbling” here.
