Enotria: The Last Song is a soulslike game that aims to stand out with a new concept in this genre, appearing on Steam. In the latest trailer, the developers show you the character model and their vibrant setting in a summery Italy.
What is Enotria about? This upcoming soulslike not only relies on a colorful setting in a sun-drenched land, but also attracts with an interesting story concept.
The world has been captured by the Canovaccio – the eternal game – and is trapped in a mysterious standstill. In this world, you are the Maskless and thus the only one free from a predetermined role.
As masters of your own fate, you engage in battle against the powerful authors of the game, collecting different masks to gain new abilities.
The game will be available for PC on Steam, PS4/PS5, and Xbox.
In the latest trailer, the developers present to you the character model, including combat style and how great the environment created in Unreal Engine 5 looks:
What does the trailer show? In the first minute of the trailer, you are introduced to the main character, the Maskless. Game Director Stoyan Stoyanov explains some of the innovations that have been implemented with their transition to Unreal Engine 5.
The following character features are presented to you:
- Marks on the arm that glow when you collect magic for your spells
- The Maskless can change the world around them
- Changing the equipped mask to gain new abilities
- Three customizable “loadouts” with their own style, equipment, and slots for abilities
Changing the mask seems to work smoothly in the game – at least in the presentation, you can see how the character brings their hand to their face, and after a bright flash of light, they wear a new mask. However, how the mask change fits into the gameplay is not yet clear.
Next, the developers present the character’s combat style and how much his movements benefit from motion capture
. The gameplay has been significantly overhauled, as the developers want to provide not only an interesting concept but also a good and fluid gaming experience.
In the trailer, you can see some small combat clips with various attacks that promise just that: fluid and clear movements that blend well together.

- Multiple parries for an aggressive playstyle
- AI behavior of enemies
- A bit of craziness to make it more exciting

Quinta, the sunny city of eternal festivities
Ultimately, the trailer gives you a glimpse into the sunny setting of the game, which has been processed with Unreal Engine 5. You can see, for example, flooded ruins, Mediterranean fields and cities, vibrant murals, and a coast filled with shipwrecks.
Among other things, the first playable area, the city of Quinta, is presented to you, showcasing a beautiful interplay of sun and shadow.
Especially in these final minutes of the trailer, it’s clear what the developers mean when they talk about a brighter and more colorful soulslike. Everywhere you can see the colors you would expect when thinking of a sunny and Mediterranean Italy.
