In Crimson Desert, there are quite a few rather annoying missions. Whether it’s transporting a whining bounty target, fighting a way too strong boss, or going for a ride with Yann. However, a player has now found an even more annoying quest.
What kind of quest is it? In Crimson Desert, Abyss Dice are scattered all over the world. They provide you with challenges that you can complete to turn these dice into skill points.
One of these challenges is particularly exhausting. For the challenge “Harmonious Hooves IV,” you must ride from Sunset Valley to Varnia. Sunset Valley is the name of the village in the far southwest of Pywel, while Varnia is located in the far northeast. The locations are therefore at the maximum distance apart.
For the challenge, the ride must be completed within 40 minutes, but it gets even more annoying.

What other rules are there? Because riding through all of Crimson Desert for 40 minutes is not time-consuming enough, there is another rule that makes the challenge even harder. You are not allowed to dismount at any time during the entire ride.
If you do, for example because an enemy attacks you and knocks you down, you have to ride the whole way back from the beginning – even if you are already in Crimson Desert.
What does the reward look like? As a reward for the challenge, the developers give you one skill point and one skill reset point. Not a big reward, considering that you have to ride for about 40 minutes at full sprint without making mistakes through all of Pywel for it.
How does the community react to the challenge? Some players have already completed the challenge and share their experiences on Reddit. There they write:

- Right_Carpenter_4622: “I just had to bring a bounty back over 2400 meters, and he kept rambling about honey and asking about his mother the whole time.”
- Xiromat: “I did this yesterday. If you have one of the legendary horses with a high bonding level, you can easily get there in 20 min. A standard horse will probably be a bit slower, but you definitely don’t need the full 40 min.”
So if you have a good mount, you will save some life time, in case you even want to complete the quest for the minimal reward. If you don’t have a good horse yet, you should secure Rokade right away.
