The Druid in WoW: Forever – The Swiss Army Knife of Azeroth
- Possible Races: Tauren, Night Elves, Skyborn
- Possible Roles: Tank, Healer, Ranged DPS, Melee DPS
Official Description: Druids live in unparalleled unity with nature. They are closely connected to the plant and animal kingdom, can effortlessly shapeshift, and thus know firsthand what abuses their wild brethren endure. As a result, despite their variety, druids tend to be suspicious, reclusive, and hard to find. So far, only a few outsiders have managed to uncover their secrets.
What are the strengths? The greatest advantage of druids is their flexibility. Although they only have 3 talent trees, they can take on all 4 possible roles in the game. Additionally, there are the various animal forms they can shift into depending on the situation to endure much damage, remove troublesome debuffs, or move quickly from point A to point B. Through Mark of the Wild, Rebirth, and Innervate, they are well-liked in every group.
There are also the advantages of the druid regarding each role:
- As a healer, druids provide the strongest heal-over-time effects, efficient single-target healing, and high mana efficiency. They can also remove poisons and curses.
- As a Balance ranged DPS, they bring special buffs and debuffs through their Moonkin form and Swarm of Insects. Additionally, they can control multiple enemies simultaneously.
- Focusing on Feral, druids can tank or deal damage with just one specialization. This makes them the perfect off-tank. Moreover, they can stealth past dangerous foes while in cat form.
What are the weaknesses? The enormous flexibility comes at the cost that the druid cannot excel in anything perfectly. In most situations, other tanks, healers, or damage dealers perform better. The Moonkin still has to prove that it can keep up with other offensive casters at level 60.
The druid is ideal for: Anyone who does not want to commit to a role forever or simply likes to help the guild whenever and wherever needed. Druids are team players who do not care about constantly being at the top of the DPS or HPS list. Instead, they bring many other benefits to every community.
