The spellcasters provide many of the most important services for the residents of Azeroth and are also a always welcome guest in every group, on every battleground, and in every raid.

- Possible Roles: Ranged damage dealers focusing on Fire, Frost, or Arcane spells
Official Description: Mages are spellcasters with great knowledge and immense skills. Their noticeable physical frailty is misleading, as they can bend the cosmic energies of the Twisting Nether to their will. Mages are rarely active in melee combat; instead, they prefer to strike from a distance, hurling Frost or Fire bolts at their unsuspecting enemies.
What are the Strengths? Those who want to always have enough water available in WoW Forever or quickly travel from capital A to capital B should be well-acquainted with mages. However, the spellcasters offer more than just their service tasks.
Mages are the kings when it comes to consistent area damage or quickly obliterating enemies with low health. Additionally, they have three specializations—Frost, Fire, and Arcane—that can be combined into strong builds for leveling, PvP, dungeons, or raids.
What are the Weaknesses? All three specializations have their own weaknesses. Arcane, for example, is very mana-intensive, Fire is heavily gear-dependent, and Frost tends to scale poorly. Against enemies with high Frost or Fire resistances, mages must adapt or suffer. Without essential Frost talents, the spellcaster becomes a glass cannon. Mages generate a lot of threat with their spells.
The Mage is Ideal for: Anyone who fully embraces the archetype of the spellcaster and likes to challenge enemies from a distance with magic. Also, a strong class for those who enjoy leveling and farming by solo pulling larger groups of enemies.
