The Fall
- Released: 2006
- Director: Tarsem Singh
If you appreciate visually stunning fantasy, you should do yourself a favor and watch The Fall. As is often the case, there are also two narrative levels here. In reality, a man tells a girl in a hospital the story of a group of adventurers.
They are all driven by revenge and travel through a colorful and creatively vibrant fantasy world to take down a nasty governor. And as is often the case with narrated stories, characters from reality suddenly appear in altered forms.
Both levels continuously influence each other, especially as the narrator’s health deteriorates. The Fall is a sensory rush; particularly the costumes and set design exceed all expectations. The film does not shy away from dark moments and is quite unique overall.
