On November 7, 2023, the planned announcement of GTA 6 was taken away from Rockstar Games. Journalist Jason Schreier from Bloomberg magazine revealed on X, formerly Twitter, that Rockstar plans to announce GTA 6 soon and wants to release a trailer in December.

Delay to “annoy” a journalist

Sam Houser, co-founder of Grand Theft Auto, actually wanted to be the first to announce the game. He was so upset about the previous leak that he seriously considered postponing the announcement.

Data analyst Tez2 said: “I remember that [Sam Houser] wanted to postpone the announcement in November by a week just to annoy Schreier, but he was dissuaded from that.” (via Dexerto)

Whether Tez2 is telling the truth cannot be fully verified.

Shortly after, the trailer itself was also leaked, forcing Rockstar Games to bring forward the reveal of the trailer to avoid falling behind. Since that trailer in December 2023, there has been no new information, except that the game is set to be released in 2025.

How does the community react? On reddit, Tez2’s information was posted. The comments believe what is described and understand Sam Houser’s reaction:
